In my view you have Trinity in a class by itself. Then, St X..... with Scott County, Butler and PRP just behind X, then a fall off to everyone else.

 

What has happened to 6A football, especially in Lexington???

 

Scott County, Prp, nor Butler is "just behind X".

Is it PRP's fault Manual isnt any good so that does not qualify as a quality win ? PRP still has to face Butler and Central . They were ranked in the top ten begining of the season and have done what they are supposed to do . Yes they have some issues on D and chose to play several schools within Jefferson County that they have played every year for decades like Doss and Valley. When PRP gets beat by Butler or upset by a unranked team then by all means kick them out of the top ten.

 

Hold your high praises for PRP until after the central game.

Highlands - 16.4

Cov Cath - 17.4

Bowling Green - 14.4

 

Don't know about BG, but for HHS and Cov Cath you have to remember that they HAVE to play Pendleton and Harrison Co. I'm sure that does a lot of damage to strength of schedule, but there is nothing they can do about it. Trust me, neither team wants to play them. Outside of that, they also have teams that won't play them. They are often looking for teams to fill the schedule with and some step up and some don't. (Mason Co stepped up and were thought to be and up and coming team at the time, but some things changed for them). Ryle looks like a great addition to any schedule, but they aren't having a good year either. So hindsite is easy, but going in is what most are looking at. We schedule tough, assuming these teams will remain consistant. SK schedules very mediocre and hopes teams aren't good when they play them.

 

I really don't understand all this talk about SK. They had one good year a couple years ago and are having a decent year this year. Outside of that, their program has been non-exsistent for years! 1 and a half years of success doesn't put them in any conversations with any top programs.

Who is the only 6A school in NKY that doesn't have either Cov Cath or HHS on their schedule????? I think you know the answer. And you want to use the word "Duck". C'mon man, you are a 6A school. Schedule like one! There's no way you can defend your strength of schedule. No way! It's actually funny to hear you try.

 

Strength of schedule (unless you know and agree with the formula used) means nothing. There are very many details that have to go into a strength of schedule for it to be meaningful. I doubt max preps has the time to put that much detail into their rankings. I could be wrong.

I agree 100% with everything you say. Someone asked about strength of schedule. So I looked it up. My only question was, if you are keeping S.K. out of the 6A top 10 becouse of their S.O.S. How is PRP at #6 with 0.4? IMO, no way S.K. could stay within 4 T.D's of Highlands or Cov Cath. And S.K. in no way will call to schedule them. Again JMO

Wow... 0.4 is embarrassing. Reality is going to hit PRP hard come playoff time (if not with Central).

Had St. X replaced Doss and FC with just about anyone else they'd be even higher.

 

I guess I don't fully understand the numbers/scale. What is the highest, or is there a cap?

I'd be interested to see what the numbers were if Trinity played the other top 9 teams as their schedule. I'd guess about 30???
