October 2, 201214 yr John Elway Endorses Romney | The Weekly Standard John Elway Endorses Romney “Governor Romney is a proven leader with the experience and background to turn around our struggling economy,” Elway said in a statement. “In these tough economic times, we need a president who understands how to get America working again – by standing on the side of taxpayers and small-business owners who do the real job creating. I am endorsing Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan for President and Vice President because I know having the courage to make decisions and tackle challenges is what leads to results and real change. America needs a comeback team – Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are that team.” UPDATE II: This is the second football big to express vocal support for Romney today. Earlier, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson put country first: Woody Johnson was asked in a Bloomberg interview whether he’d prefer to see a winning season from the Jets or Mitt Romney, the man he supports, occupying the White House. “Well I think you always have to put country first,” Johnson said, “so I think it’s very, very important that not only for us but for particularly our kids and grandkids that this election comes off with Mitt Romney and [Paul] Ryan as president and vice-president.” I think I'd rather have those endorsements than the Communist Party USA Communist Party Endorses Obama For 2012 - President Obama - Fox Nation or Hugo Chavez
October 2, 201214 yr Elway showed up to the event driving a Bentley. How very in touch with the common man and the current economic climate he is. Is the fact that 1%ers are endorsing Romney supposed to be some kind of great revelation?
October 2, 201214 yr Most 1%'ers are very smart and know whats best for the country.. They know that most every liberal policy is a failure.
October 2, 201214 yr Most 1%'ers are very smart and know whats best for the country.. They know that most every liberal policy is a failure. They also know that Romney will send some tax breaks their way. Not saying the alternative is better...
October 2, 201214 yr Both sides have their fair share of 1%ers (including themselves) that run this country. I always love the perception that there are not elite rich guys on the left. Edited October 2, 201214 yr by bugatti

Yeah buddy, old Woody Johnson pulled himself up by his boot straps and earned every dollar he ever made the old fashion way. He never had any advantages at anything he is just so much smarter to have hit the copulation lottery than most of us. :thumb:

That endorsement could wind up being an albatross around his neck. That endorsement should be the focus of Republican ads. How do Democrats defend that endorsement? Democrats can't complain about the rich endorsing Governor Romney when almost all of the rich in Hollywood endorse President Obama. He is the most elitist President we have had.

Well Osama Bin Ladin was a relgious conservative, how does that reflect on the religous conservative wing of the repbulican party?
October 2, 201214 yr Well Osama Bin Ladin was a relgious conservative, how does that reflect on the religous conservative wing of the repbulican party? That has nothing to do with anything. If you are trying to correlate the two situations, that is bizarre. I don't think Bin Laden endorsed the Republicans.
October 2, 201214 yr That has nothing to do with anything. If you are trying to correlate the two situations, that is bizarre. I don't think Bin Laden endorsed the Republicans. I agree which was my point, Hugo Chavez's endorsement or lack thereof has no bearing on the President or this election.

Is the fact that 1%ers are endorsing Romney supposed to be some kind of great revelation? Come on man. I'm sure Clooney and Affleck are driving around in 1999 Honda Civics.

I seriously doubt Hugo Chavez's endorsement of President Obama plays any part in this election. At least for the sake of the average American, I sure hope not.

Of course he doesn't care about a winning season as much as much as his country.
October 2, 201214 yr That has nothing to do with anything. If you are trying to correlate the two situations, that is bizarre. I don't think Bin Laden endorsed the Republicans. If I recall, he actually said he was going to plot another attack against all the red states or something in Bush v. Kerry. Obviously, Bush won in '04 due to Bin Laden's endorsement of Kerry.
