well, the Red Devils are coming off a hard fought game last night, a long bus ride, and Austin Blair at about 60%, so I agree they may be the underdog here, but If I'm not mistaken a lot of Scott players played on the Northern Ky Royals who have never won against Van Hoose, Clark, and Blair, now I know that is not a great comparison but I think Russell will very much have a chance to win this game, and thats all you can ask for

Ashland had a tough time scoring last night. Thomas and McDavid were really the only ones that could score. Vanhoose and Clark played well. I think thats the first time Clark has ever made more than one three in his life lol! ..but a GREAT athlete. I think that both of these teams potentially have a chance of winning the region, and both have a chance of not even getting to the regional tournament. The 16th is crazy this year. It will be intersting to see how it ends up.

Russell has got Scott next and they are gonna have to bring somethn that Scott isn't prepared for or they have no chance next game.

 

Russell did bring something special, Lavender did a great job defending the post against Howard, Gill had a great first half, Jared Simpson hit 4 straight free throws down the stretch to earn the nickname "crunch", and Van Hoose

after missing his first five shots of the game, did not miss a shot in the second half except for one free throw, ending up with 27

Let me clear this up for you. The N. KY Royals have played only one time against those three players in AAU basketball around 3 years ago and lost by 2 points.

I not so sure there was any thought put into it.

On a lighter note, I meant to post this a few days ago. Drew McDavid became the 19th player in Ashland history to score 1,000 points. So I did some math and I figured on a low ball estimate of 44 games left in Drew's career, 14 this season (That is with a first round district exit, which is possible) and approximately 30 games next year. With 44 games left Drew would need to average 11 points a game to pass Kyle Umberger as Ashland 2nd All-Time leading scorer, and like 19 to pass Marty Thomas as #1 All-Time. So I would think that #2 All-Time would be almost a guarantee, and #1 a very real possibility.
