Saw one of the weirdest plays I have ever seen last night at the game. First play from scrimmage Thomas Wrobleski picks up a fumble and runs it back for an apparent touchdown. Thomas decides he is going to spike the ball. A flag is thrown and I am thinking 15yd penalty on the kickoff. The refs gather for a few minutes and put the ball on the 20yd line with no score on the scoreboard. The Harrison offense comes back out and so does the HHS defense. What do you think the call was?

 

And his new nickname is Leon, as in Leon Lett. Google it if you don't know.

Why did the starters not play? I can see getting a lead and resting them, but it seems odd for starters not to at least get a few reps.

Saving them for the Pendleton County game next week.

PC did beat Bossart, so they must be better than last season.

The starters want to play. Those nursing injuries didn't even suit up. Those that played knew their number of snaps was limited. If you make a nice play, it's no big deal, it's to be expected. If the opponent gets a first down or has a tackle for loss, it is cause for celebration.

 

There is no excitement in the stands. You watch the scoreboard and try to predict the point of running clock.

 

Bad news is we get "another fun break" next week.

The game within the game is what makes it fun. Working on the passing game, not allowing first downs, scoring on every drive that the 1st team is in. The other part of having this type of game is that the practices during the week are a lot more intense.

 

Winning is fun, and yes there are easy games, but these are good games to prepare for games down the road.

Not that it matters, but Harrison County football may be at an all-time low. The team has had several injuries and several seniors have quit the team. Why on earth would parents allow their kids to quit the team I have no idea. Boo to the seniors that quit and best of luck to the young Thorobreds who stick with the dismal program.
