I Thought I'd Heard It All

My I thought I'd heard it all moment was when Obama referred to the Middle East events as "bumps in the road". I'm sure the ambassador's family loved hearing that.

At least they were bumps in the road as opposed to Candidate Romney's approach to peace in the Middle East - kick the ball down the road and hope for the best. Now there's a leader.biggrin.gif

Here is ole Mitt's ER Info. Duh

Yet another Flippity Flop!

WASHINGTON -- Downplaying the need for the government to ensure that every person has health insurance, Mitt Romney on Sunday suggested that emergency room care suffices as a substitute for the uninsured."Well, we do provide care for people who don't have insurance," he said in an interview with Scott Pelley of CBS's "60 Minutes" that aired Sunday night. "If someone has a heart attack, they don't sit in their apartment and die. We pick them up in an ambulance, and take them to the hospital, and give them care. And different states have different ways of providing for that care."

This constitutes a dramatic reversal in position for Romney, who passed a universal health care law in Massachusetts, in part, to eliminate the costs incurred when the uninsured show up in emergency rooms for care. Indeed, in both his book and in high-profile interviews during the campaign, Romney has touted his achievement in stamping out these inefficiencies while arguing that the same thing should be done at the national level.

Mitt Romney, On 60 Minutes, Cites Emergency Room As Health Care Option For Uninsured

How about this as a thought, filter out those who are capable of getting a job and make them work for health care as opposed to working Americans like me and I assume you pay for it. Then we can concentrate on those who TRULY need assistance and provide health care to those folks. Just like when he was a Senator in Illinois in which his district gave more CHARITY than any other district in the state. Take from the working class and give to those who know he will take care of them.

The millions of uninsured should go to the emergency room for their healthcare, per Candidate Romney on 60 Minutes last night. Pandering to the base, is my best guess.

Romney was against emergency room care before he was for it

Well, isn't that what has been happening for decades? And everyone kicks and screams about the indigent utilizing the most expensive services....go figure. And you can't go to the ER for preventative care. So those without insurance have to wait till they're seriously ill or dying for care. That's the ticket! Keep doing what we have been doing. It works so well!

^ Of course. And as recently as 2010, Candidate Romney was extolling the virtues of universal health care and reduced reliance on ERs.

Since Obama came into office it cost more for working Americans to get quality health care and those who get discounts or free care prosper, that has been a great philosophy for the last four years. It is amazing to me how the working Americans feel Obama is on your side, it is not your vote he is looking for. I wonder how many people will be helped to polls to vote but when ask to find a decent job they can't seem to get there! My vote is for Hillary, she may make health care worse but she would also push to cut the budget.

I used to crush John Kerry (rightfully so, IMO) for being so wishy-washy/flip-floppy. Mitt Romney is far worse in this regard. It is embarrassing that he is the best candidate Republicans could put up against a very vulnerable incumbent.

Could not agree more! It is frightening that there is not viable candidate.

True story: I was at Childrens Hospital in Cincinnati years ago when my oldest was 4 years old. We were there because he had spinal meningitis. I was shocked at how croweded the ER was on a Friday afternoon. The nurse told me there was a festival in town. Many of the parents bring the kids in and say they have a headache and are vomiting. It is an automatic overnight. So the child is in the hospital for the night and the "parents" go to the fesitval.:idunno:

Guess who pays?:irked:

I really and truly think that the Rs were waiting for 2016.

We agree!

The absolute LAST thing we need is to have this newest incarnation of Candidate Romney's healthcare plan.

Leader? Obama? The man doesn't know who's an ally and who isn't. Quite the leader there.

Then you have Obama suggesting "that the 'working poor' on welfare are a political bloc that can be harnessed." There's a compassionate non-leader for you.
