Bengals 38 Redskins 31

Featured Replies

Andrew Hawkins has been a force in all 3 games.

5'7'', Toledo, the CFL, cut by 2 NFL teams. How improbable is Andrew's success?

This guy's story is shaping up like Jeremy Lin's.

You mean he's going to play out of his mind for three weeks, struggle for a month, hurt his knee, miss the rest of the season and then sign with Houston?

I hope not. If so, his three weeks are up.

The Bengals no doubt have to keep getting better on defense.

I haven't seen any improvement whatsoever so no reason to think they will "keep" improving.

I liked the Wildcat quaterback play with Mohamed Snau to AJ Green that's the kind of play I like to see QB"S throwing the ball. And Dalton lined up as a wide reciever he didn't even move from there.

The play worked well for a couple of reasons...one, the Redskins fully expected the Bengals to run the ball out of the Wildcat. So the safeties got sucked up to play that. And yes, Dalton flanked out wide and drew a defender to him. And, yes, you are correct in that he didn't move once there was the snap. But, with Green in the slot, the last thing you want Dalton to do is to run down the field and take a defender with him that could slide over and make a play on the thrown ball. It was both a perfect design and execution on the play.

Now, will it work again later this year...probably not. The element of surprise is gone. Everyone now knows Sanu can throw the ball.

I was saying could he have aleast make a move down field and not be so obvious, or was it was for his safety reasons, he didn't to make contact with anyplayers but it would've maybe changed the makeup of the play.

Hawkins continues to get better with each game IMO.

How did you not see any improvement in the game? First two weeks no pass rush, against the Redskins they had a pass rush. The Redskins first three drives ended in punts and then their 5th ended up in a fumble. For 3 quarters they completely shut down RG3's ability to pass, and besides for the 3rd quarter they did a good job on the zone read which has given all defenses troubles over the last two years. It wasn't until they went into that stupid prevent defense when they started to also get gashed in the passing game. What they did against the Redskins was by no means good, however still 10 times better than what they were the first 2 weeks. So yes that is improvement, but I agree they need to improve a lot more still.
