Not all that familiar with Goode but after looking at his website I like where he stands on the issues. Looks like an attorney who has turned career politician, which is fine, but I would say he has plenty of cash.

 

 

Trust me, he's comfortable but not very wealthy compared to the major players. He also has an accent that would make Mayberry blush with southern pride.

Who said it was only his fault? It's not but he's obviously failed as a leader. He did have the congress and a super majority which other presidents have not often enjoyed. He had the majorities for 2 years. Yet he was not able to get things through. He allowed himself to become distracted and we're still paying the price. Health care was a priority over the economic situation. Congratulations! He got that through. If the same effort had been made on the economy perhaps we would be in a better position?

It doesn't matter how many fillibusters there were. Obstruction by the minority party and bullying by the party in power is nothing new. Every president has had to deal with them. Obama had a SUPER majority for a time and where did he focus? On health care, much of which doesn't even take effect for years. If he had focused on the economy he could have pushed anything he wanted thru. He didn't. Failed leadership.

 

We will continue to get the presidents we deserve as long as we have people willing to excuse anything their guy does and accept poor performance. And yes it goes for both sides.

The Republican blocked the will of the people and said that was what they were going to do. Ultimately Mitch McConnell is going to fail in his one stated goal - the keep President Obama to one term. He will coast to his second.

So the super-majority did what it wanted. changed the rules and ignored all input from the minority party and we got AHCA that is anything but the first A.

BTW, I do put McConnell in the list as old guard that is bitter and not being productive. Trent Lott ditto. McConnell is one of the last hangers on of the previous generation.

 

The Rubios, Ryans, Wests are starting to come up the ranks and displace the old guard bitter repubs. The Dems - well they were counting on Weiner for one their young leaders I believe, maybe Debbie Wasserman-Schultz?

I'm really confused, these are not his policies but he said his policies need more time to work.

I will leave on this, whoever wins in November we ALL need to work together! This partisan crap is hurting many people, you cannot have good government without compromise.

 

Plus, it's not really the president that gets things done, it's congress, need to know why we are in this mess? Just look at the approval rating of congress, it's at 10%! Would you want a doctor operating on you that only scored a 10 on his exams? Or a police officer, firefighter or EMS person who scored only a 10 on their exams? If not, why not the same expectations for congress? The problem is we look at other congressmen other than our own. I would be happy if Mitch was gone and replaced by another republican, but then KY would lose his powerful position. Remember when Paul won? Mitch about broke his legs running to Paul to buddy up to him and wanted to throw tons of money his way, he did this as he see's Paul as a threat to HIM!
