If you are on the Kentucky High School football coaches listserv, you are well aware of the humor you can find in many emails. While I am not a coach, for the purpose of being an informed BGP poster, I signed up for the service. Most of the emails are used primarily to schedule games from the freshman team all the way up to the varsity level. You will also occasionally see an email that was intended for one person, that accidentally was sent across to all.

That's where today comes in. While checking my email, I noticed that Danville's coach had requested an opponent for next season. Danville, being a quality football program, is apparently struggling to secure a game. Green County's coach responded to the listserv (although he obviously intended it to be private) telling Danville's coach that his AD/fans wanted to play games with area schools such as Hart County, Taylor County, Adair County, and Caverna. His quote was...

"They do not understand that you do not get better playing those people."

The email was immediately followed by responses from the offended coaches, all posted to the listserv. They included Hart County promising never to play Green County and Caverna asking Green County to look in the mirror and self-evaluate.

Was Green County's coach correct in comments? Perhaps. But my point for all is this: be super, SUPER careful as to who you email and what you say. Because it can look really bad if it goes to the wrong reader!

haha, I almost considered posting this myself.

GCHS do you remember a few years ago when the coach posted out, "got it 2 large pepperoni pizzas, I love you" He meant to send this email to his wife and hit the wrong address. We had fun with that for weeks.

I too subscribe to the list serve for the reason of being informed, but I have to tell you, some of the emails those guys send to the entire list serve are funny as hell. Technology is your friend guys, but it can quickly become your enemy if you're not careful.

I read it, and it was about as classless as it gets.

Don't recall that, but it would have been funny. I remember one a few years ago that somebody posted something about "not wanting to play Lexington Catholic because they recruit," only to have Lexington Catholic's coach effectively challenge that coach to a fight. It was quite funny.

It probably is true but I don't think it's a good idea to say that publicly

I remember that one. I was checking my email about every 30 seconds for more on that.

At least that coach was being honest! :D

Lol..How does one signup?
