Mason County 37 Harrison County 22

Featured Replies

Breds went up 22-14 in the third, but Mason County scored the last 23 points of the contest. Shout out to my little buddy Michael Sutton on the first TD catch of his career.

Harrison having a tough go right now; I think someone said that they had something like 7 starters out with injuries; and it didn't help when #20 went out during the game. I hope he's okay; maybe one of the HC posters can give us an update.

I had the pleasure of meeting young Mr. Sutton @ a Bellarmine baseball showcase a few weeks back. Great kid. Glad to see him getting some props on the gridiron.

Nice win Mason County, I always pull for the Royals so I'm glad to see you getting a W. :thumb:

On the radio last night they said that it was his knee. HC's dr. said that he had good mobility but the pain was on the outside of his knee. #20 is Talbott and through 3 games this year he had 276 yards rushing and 3 TD's.

Thanks for the update. Looked like a knee to me but I don't like to speculate on something like that. It was clear that he was Harrison's best threat on offense; when he went out the air went out of the Breds' sails.

Congrats to Chief and the Mason coaches and players. JD

JD- Thank you. I miss our battles with the Juggernauts. Those were fun.

Leatherneck- Look forward to seeing you Friday night at Highlands. Make sure you holler at me before the game.

Both teams (Mason & Harrison) are young and struggling but making progress. Talbott is a special player. I hope he gets well and can return.

I like our team alot and we are headed in the right direction. I was especially pleased with their response when we fell behind 22-14 in the 3rd. We(our staff) think we have a really good group of kids and enjoy coaching them each day- even the early Wednesday mornings before school when the humidity is 100%!

It's always fun seeing kids excited about a Friday night HS football game. I enjoy and am always impressed with the resiliency of HS kids. Two teams without a win, going at it, playing hard, and having fun. Friday Nights and HS Football - not a better time to be a kid!

Great perspective, ChiefSmoke. The HS teams I played on were average, we never made the playoffs, but I would not trade that experience for anything in the world. Winning is great, but most of my great memories playing football have little to do with wins/losses. The bonds we formed will last forever and the lessons we learned prepared us for LIFE, thanks to great friends and amazingly dedicated coaches.

Watusi said it better than I will, but I couldn't agree more in re the bolded. The bolded is what high school football, heck high school athletics, should be all about. Yeah we all want to win; all the time. But at the end of the day, it's supposed to be about teen aged kids having fun playing games that they love and creating those memories and bonds that will last forever. As long as that is happening, we adults should be content.

I'll definitely find you before the game Coach. Again, congrats.

Chiefsmoke now that I am retired I just enjoy going to a game on Friday and watching. I do miss it, an especially you and I talking before the Lloyd vs Mason games. You are and will be a special person in my life I got to know. Your love for the game and players will go on forever. Leatherneck is also right you are special. JD

Thanks JD. Come see us @ Highlands Friday night. Go Juggs!

Can not promise I can make it Friday to Highlands, will have to see how things shake out by Friday, thanks ChiefSmoke. JD
