Qryche11
Its bad enough the newspapers have cut back on the High School Previews limiting them to a couple pages and small articles. They used to show rosters and schedules but not anymore. I have checked a few websites like nkysports.com and the KHSAA site and havent had much success. Either they are'nt there or they are last year's rosters. Is there a thread on here where team rosters are listed with numbers, Hgt, Wgt, etc? icalldownfire
Depending on who you are looking for nkysports.com has most of the rosters correct as well as maxpreps
Theoldguy
Q, have you tried visiting the different school web pages? That is a good source, as is the Cincinnati Enquirer Stats page for local schools! Understand numbers can change but a lot of times it is more so because a player changes a position and or a torn or forgotten jersey:idunno: (it happens)! gchs_uk9
In a similar vein, I am someone who's job at the football game requires a roster. When Garrard County hosted Lloyd Memorial, Lloyd did not provide a roster to anyone in the press box. The only Lloyd roster was supplied by the Garrard athletic director, which was a print off of the KHSAA. That version had no freshmen listed and ultimately had numerous players with the wrong numbers. After some harassing of the Lloyd coaches in the press box we were able to get names of some key players. But many players had to settle for being called #10 or #80. My question is: Why wouldn't the traveling team bring multiple copies of rosters to give to radio, PA, newspapers, etc.? By not doing that, those coaches are doing a disservice to the kids, family members, media, and anyone who is reliant upon names for the job they are attempting to do. I always bring a host of printed up rosters with me from a roster with numbers, names, weight, heights, class to a media sheet with only the names and numbers (in numerical order of course) in large 18 fonts black Arial print, as I find it makes it easier for the PA guys to read. BTW I also bring a few extra copies of the visitors roster because I too find it hard to believe that many of the other teams have none to give out to the news media guys who cover our game. In fact this season I sent out both type of rosters that I have to the many of the media outlets in and around the Commonwealth!

In truth, most are pretty good. The rosters are typically accurate, although your point about large font is one I wish more schools would follow. As for numerical order, one of Garrard's former district opponents (won't say who) would always bring an alphabetical roster. They'd have 40 kids in ABC order, which is absolutely terrible when the most important thing to see is the number.

Theoldguy
If our roster is up to date on the KHSAA webpage, why can't those that need it print it off? TB&G honestly some school don't have their roster updated on the KHSAA site and if you are the visitor in a game, why should the home team have to look up your roster and then print out your roster? Don't you think your school has some responsibility to give the information to the home team so the PA guys can announce your players names during the game? gchs_uk9
If our roster is up to date on the KHSAA webpage, why can't those that need it print it off? We do that. My problem with the KHSAA rosters (at least from the scoreboard page) is they aren't in numerical order. Obviously they would work in a pinch, but numerical would work so much better. It would seem to me a common courtesy for the visiting team to bring rosters, even if no one used them.
