I only saw half of the President's speech.

A++ for delivery.

Content, not so much.

"But when Governor Romney and his allies in Congress tell us we can somehow lower our deficit by spending trillions more on new tax breaks for the wealthy – well, you do the math. I refuse to go along with that. And as long as I’m President, I never will."

The $5 trillion man lecturing on the deficit. Laughable. :lol:

Plus it is impossible to pay for everything by taxing people making $250k unless you tax them to death.

As always, Obama supporters loved it and Obama haters didn't. No surprises.

I'm not necessarily in disagreement with the President on ending those cuts for the wealthy (though our definition of "wealthy" is different). But it's absolutely comical for this man to criticize any other living human being about our national deficit.

If I'm not mistaken it's more than letting the tax cuts expire. Plus the Supreme Court says that Obamacare is a tax on us all.

Does Romney want to turn Social Security over to Wall St.? Did Romney say he wants the government to do almost nothing? Where is he getting this?

Fact check. Not the SC did not. It said, that if you CHOOSE not to have health coverage you will pay the fee, and that fee is a tax. It is not a tax on "us all."

First, Romney beats the health care drum. Now, we have Obama beating the deficit drum. Shake. My. Head.

On the bright side, the conventions are over. And I do believe the Democrats put on a much better show than the GOP.

John King on CNN just stated that the first debate is the biggest night of Mitt Romney's political career. Some disagree with me, but I believe if Romney stands a chance, he has to land some serious blows in the first debate. I personally don't think he has it in him.

One month ago it was "you didn't build that" last night it was "we believe in the individual".

He did say that the syntax in the 'you didn't build that' quote was wrong.

Of course folks did take that one sentence and run with it but...whatever.
