Heard an interview with Ann Compton who has been traveling with the Obama campaign. She said while a little more formal, Obama gave his standard stump speech last night. That surprised me.

As always, Obama supporters loved it and Obama haters didn't. No surprises.

 

There never are. I could have written the threads on both conventions a month ago, even assigning members to many of the posts. BigGreenHorse would be hard though, I'd need a lot of Red Bull and a using all those icons would hurt my eyes.

He did say that the syntax in the 'you didn't build that' quote was wrong.

 

Of course folks did take that one sentence and run with it but...whatever.

Any 'dividend' from anything goes to 3 programs in the future...

 

1) Interest on the national debt, 2) Medicare spending driven by ACA and 3) Social Security

 

Everything else shrinks - by current plan. Everything - military, justice, education, etc. All need to provide dividends to pay for the 3 monsters above.

Listening to people deconstruct that quote has been like listening to Justice Scalia deconstruct the Second Amendment.

Watching John Kerry speak reaffirmed my position that he would have made a terrible President. I guess with his Foreign Policy speech he is auditioning for Secretary of State. "Ask Bin Laden if he is better off now than he was 4 years ago."

In all fairness - Yes, the 'that' in 'you didn't build that' was about infrastructure, not the business the people owned. But its hard to see that if you do not see the statements in print and read them like a detailed contract.

The part I listened to sounded like the State of Union(s) with the words 'vote for me' inserted.
