True blue (and gold)
Well an Obama commercial says he paid 14% taxes. But let's say he didn't pay, so what? He filed and played what was required. Some people feel that if he didn't pay any taxes that it speaks to his character, legal or not.

I suppose those sitting in judgement voluntarily pay more taxes than they are required to pay. Don't they?
Run To State
Some people feel that if he didn't pay any taxes that it speaks to his character, legal or not. This whole thing is to continue to show how rich Romney is in hope to further distance him from "average people", nothing more. mcpapa
^ That's definitely a big part of it. Romney's camp has obviously decided that it would be more damaging to the campaign to release the tax records than to continue to have folks speculating about them. People (in large) seem to hate rich, successful people. Why play into the oppositions hand?

BigGreenHorse
No one is scrutinized more than the President. They would crush him if he hid anything. Barry has released 12 yrs of tax returns, his birth certificate, has no offshore accounts, never worked for Bain Capital and lived up to more of his promises than anyone. Its Bush who got the nation in this mess. Thewars, the taxcuts for the rich. :ohbrother:
