How many T fans from BGP are planning to attend the scrimmage in the fort?

My only argument against Trinity is they play noone from Texas florida or California.

 

So what? They play Moeller, St. X, and Elder. Outside of '04 Colerain, nobody has run through all 3 of those teams. The GCL South is traditionally one of the toughest leagues in the entire country.

Let's face facts. You're no more likely to give Trinity the full credit they deserve for their accomplishments last year then I am to start calling Mike Glaser an offensive genius and innovator.

Agreed, if you can beat those 3 then you're in the top 5 in the country no questions asked, if you are willing to schedule them and think you can win then you're probably in the top 10 or insane, I don't think the Rocks are insane.

Really? Elder was 2-8 last year. Lou X beat Cincy X and gave Moeller a run for their money. Beating these 3 teams last year isn't saying much in comparison to the schedule don Bosco played. They played a team from Florida, Ohio, and California and won all 3. I'm not throwing salt im simply saying sweeping the gcl South last year is the equivalent to sweeping district 6.

Understandable. But "ifs" happen all the time "if" Beets doesn't fumble on the 1yrd line about to walk in the end zone my tigers beat Moeller. "If" my tigers didn't miss an extra point and a fg and Clemons doesn't fumble in the endzone last year that game is totally different. i dont believe in ifs and buts and Woulda Coulda Shoulda. What happened happened and its all about matchups.

If we are comparing scores, here you go. Elder lost to Miami Central 24-21, so a bad GCL South team lost by 3 to Florida's 6A runner-up. Elder lost to Trinity by a score of 56-7.

 

Elder went 2-8 against a ridiculous schedule, but was still just a step below the second best team in 6A in Florida.

 

St. X should be seen as a huge win for your St. X, not a terrible loss for the GCL South. Additionally, Cincy St. X played w/out their only real offensive threat at RB.

 

Moeller beat you guys 27-10. I'll give you that they scored a late TD.

 

The point of this is that to beat 1 of those teams isn't season defining, but to run the gauntlet just doesn't happen unless you have a very special team. The difference b/n teams from Florida and here isn't the quality of team, it's the quality of athlete. I have seen, at least from TV, Cincy schools hold their own against some huge national teams. The reason being is that the coaching is better. Trinity has great coaching and a once in a generation collection of players.

I can agree with the athlete to team moniker and i do agree Trinity was one of the best teams nationally last year, the best, no but thats my opinion in my eyes to be the best you have to beat the best and Texas by far has the best high school football.

 

In the end its all about matchups and we can sit and say what we think wouldve happened but i know from experience none of that matters. its what is done on the field that matters and Trinity handled business last year and for that i commemorate them. But the whole this and that and ifs and buts can be played with any team especially my tigers last year. But congrats to trinity on a stellar season lst year. But i dont see the same this time around
