BTW, if he legally did not pay taxes for 10 years I say more power to him, wish it were me. The problem is with the tax laws, not those who follow them. Warren Buffett rails against them but no one is on him for taking advantage of them. Why not? He makes a lot more than Romney. We agree completely.

August 6, 201214 yr It is nothing more than a ploy to get Romney closer to producing his records. And Reid took to the Senate floor to release his statements which is sickening on many levels... as VOR said, this is case-in-point why the congress approval rating is around 10%. It all gets back to class warfare. Romney and everyone else knows what the records will show. He paid taxes, paid lots of taxes, but used loopholes and other means (off shore accounts, etc) that benefit the rich by not having to pay a higher rate.

Maybe the current administration can set they bar and release their returns from the period of their real estate dealings with Tony Resko.

To me this seems like an abuse of this power.... or he is telling the truth that he has not paid taxes in the past 10 years.
August 6, 201214 yr Maybe if candidate Romney hadn't had such issues with his tax returns when running for governor in 2002, this wouldn't be such an issue. As it is, it keeps his campaign a bit on the defensive which I am sure is just fine with the President's camp. I don't care if he paid taxes or not, as long as what he paid/didn't pay were per the rules.
