Maybe....but I question any kid's mental aptitude if he chooses UK because Cal gave Drake a ring. If that's your reason for coming to UK then have fun riding the bench while your buddies chase NBA stardom is my take.

I don't think it's so much that a kid will come to UK because Drake has a ring. Rather, it's that Cal giving Drake a ring gives a perception that UK is the program.

So he should just stop promoting the program? I agree that this is a terribly minor move, and probably won't make a bit of difference in his recruiting efforts. But why not? There is zero downside.
