What I am saying to you is Mitt Romney, he’s speaking to a segment of the population who does not like to see people other than a white man in a White House or any other elected position.

 

Let’s be real clear about it … let’s be real clear. Mitt Romney is speaking to a group of people out there who don’t like folks like Barack Obama in any elected or leadership position. We know what’s going on here and some people may be afraid to say it but I am not. I am not afraid to say it.

 

He’s speaking to that fringe out there who do not want to see anybody other than a white person in a leadership position. Senator Miller said it before she died and I agreed with her. They don’t want President Barack Obama in office as President and for all the reasons that you and I and a lot of other people understand.

I wish when people would say things like this they would be more clear. There are white people that Romney speaks to who feel the way she said they feel. He knows who they are and exactly how to speak to them. Just like Obama says things to black people with the exact same thought process just vice versa. He knows who they are and how to speak to them. It goes both ways.

And yet we never seem to hear about it the other way. People like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others can make blanket (and oft times blatantly false) statements concerning racial matters and they are given a free pass. I can promise you that if anyone remotely connected with the Romney campaign said anything to the effect that there is a segment of the electorate that support Obama just because he is black (and I do believe that is true) those two and many in the media would be all over it and demanding condemnation and dismissal from the Romney campaign. Why has that not happened here?

My opinion is, it's time to put the card back in the deck, it's been overplayed at this point.

I'm voting for the white guy. Not because he's white, but because he's not Barack Obama. I wouldn't care if he was mauve.

 

I would hope black people would vote for the candidate they prefer, not because of race, but because of what he stands upon. Same for tan people, brown people, yellow people.

I don't disagree. A lot of the older blacks still look at everything as a black/white issue based on their upbringing. This train of thought will cycle out and be replaced with a more trusting and cooperative train of thought at some point. Hopefully we'll be alive to see it.

Most will. I won't deny that President Obama running for POTUS brought blacks to the voting booth in record numbers but I will say that blacks typically vote democrat anyways. I wouldn't vote for Michael Steele or Herman Cain and neither would 99% of the black people that I know but I also am not naive to believe that there wasn't a sizable percentage of black people that voted for President Obama because he is black. There definitely was.

No...but "white male" is a race card. It just so happens to also be a gender card.
