For the record, I can think of a couple terms I would use to describe a guy that are pretty gender exclusive as well. Just can't post them on BGP without putting my membership on the line.

 

I get it. And there are worse terms for women as well. But those are understood as expletives. These are words we use in the normal course of business. They're part of everyday usage. If it's male saying it, he's stupid; if it's a female, she's a stupid woman. The words we're using here emphasize the woman's gender as part of the pejorative as much as or more than the stupidity. Do we really still live in that world?

Well, I guess so and I am guilty as charged in this case. I could not tell you the last time I used the word bimbo. I guess when we live in a world that ceases to have people make these type statements, people will cease to use that word. It is not my intent to degrade women with my usage of the word or variation thereof. Just degrade her for bringing down others.

Insensitive comments but hardly breaking new ground here. Jokes almost always come at the expense of someone or some group who have done nothing to earn ridicule. Ever told a "black joke?" Polish joke? Ever said "red-headed stepchild?" Gay jokes?

True but it's not unprecedented. "Jim Jones" or "drink the kool-aid" jokes have been around for a long time.

 

We all have lines that we draw and I'd argue many are inconsistent.
