Can't say enough about that kind of a score. I have one who has done the boot camp and an on-line prep course, trying to hit the 30s. Tanner Fangman is in an elite group.

A 28 is a very, very good ACT score. A 32 is phenomenal. A perfect score is almost unheard of, especially for someone that balances high school athletics with his studies.

I remember my ACT experience, I remember starting to nodd off and then counting the number of people doing the same. We had a football game the night before and didn't get back to the school until after 1 am. Needless to say a quick survey of the room and you could tell which test takers were at the game.

 

Clyde any idea on where the young man wants to go to school? Pretty sure that ACT score means he won't have to pay a penny any where he goes.

 

Not quite anywhere...but I'm sure there will be plenty of free options at his disposal.

 

You'd be surprised. We had a student earn a 35 (perfect scores on math and science), had been a scholar in an elite NASA program for two years, aced several AP tests (including AP Chem, Bio, Physics and Calculus) and he has been offered essentially nothing at the out of state school of his choice.

 

Congrats to Mr. Fangman. With a kid that smart, I'm sure that he'll choose the best situation for his future!

You can throw in NewCath's Nathan Grosser (Class of 2013) into that group. He pulled off his "perfect score" as a sophomore, while playing Basketball and Soccer.
