July 3, 201214 yr Just got this Chris Broussard @Chris_Broussard Suns having dinner with Eric Gordon right now. Phx is considering offering him max deal (4 years, $58 million), sources say
July 3, 201214 yr Teams can offer Gordon anything they want, New Orleans holds the power and holds the money.
July 3, 201214 yr Author Teams can offer Gordon anything they want, New Orleans holds the power and holds the money. But a team giving him the max re-sign forces New Orleans into spending that amount.
July 3, 201214 yr But a team giving him the max re-sign forces New Orleans into spending that amount. Yep, but they have plenty of room and I doubt people are making offers to force them to spend. He will be a Hornet.
July 3, 201214 yr I think they can sign him to a max deal and still have money left if I understood correctly.
July 3, 201214 yr I think they can sign him to a max deal and still have money left if I understood correctly. Yep, they have tons of space left even after that.
July 3, 201214 yr The way I figure it if all the Nets trades that ESPN is talking about come through, they will have Williams, Howard, Johnson, and Wallace and no one else and no first round draft picks until like 2019.
July 3, 201214 yr It's Lopez, Humphries, and someone else I can't remember and 2013,2015,2017 first round pick I think they said on the radio. I feel like Orlando can get a much better package than that.

IMO it would take Lopez, Wallace, Marshon Brooks and picks to even remotely be in the ballpark, and that may include the Nets having to take on Hedo's deal.
July 3, 201214 yr Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA For Nets-Magic to progress on a Dwight Howard deal, a 3rd team needed to take Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade, league source tells Y!

Those draft picks will be extremely late in the draft every year as well. Not very valuable. I agree about Hedo, if I was Orlando I would make them take his contract as well. He has a player option for $12.2 M next year.
July 3, 201214 yr All of this makes me very sad. The Lakers aren't going to get anyone good and it's going to be another short playoff run.
July 3, 201214 yr Author As mentioned above the draft picks will be very late in the first round (most likely) so that deal doesn't look very good to me.
