I'll take that everyday of the week. i guess I lost a week somewhere, forgot about the Mets win last Sunday. I don't think the weak hitting lineup was really being used a lot on Sunday while Rolen was out. Let's see if that type of winning continues once Dusty gets his full squad back.
June 22, 201214 yr Yeah I don't see how another 1st baseman can help this organization but he is left handed and has some pop. His strikeout rate is high but no higher than a lot of the swing and miss guys already on the 40 man roster. Does anyone know why the Indians just gave up on him? Did they 40 man roster problems and needed the spot?

He's hitting under .200 with OBP of .239 My entire post was sarcasm...I actually dont understand the move at all unless someone for Pensacola got injured and I dont know about it...Pensacola already has Guzman who plays 1st and he made the AA All Star Game, maybe he is getting promoted idk... Beau is the son of Brad Mills and I agree he sucks...

I doubt he has any trade value or else the Reds wouldn't have snatched him so easily, however they could have signed because they are shopping around Soto the Louisville First Baseman or Guzman the Pensacola First Baseman and they will need someone to fill in for one of them if they are traded...

CLEVELAND -- Beau Mills' production in the Indians' farm system never met the kind of expectations that are placed on a first-round Draft pick. The first baseman will now hope for a fresh start with the Reds. On Thursday, Cleveland traded Mills to Cincinnati in exchange for cash in a Minor League deal. Mills has been assigned to Double-A Pensacola in the Reds' organization after spending the beginning of the season with Triple-A Columbus. The Tribe made Mills the 13th overall selection in the first round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. In parts of six Minor League seasons with Cleveland, the 25-year-old Mills hit .267 with a .330 on-base percentage and a .444 slugging percentage. The left-handed hitter piled up 76 home runs and 375 RBIs in 569 professional games for Indians affiliates. This season, Mills hit just .197 with a .239 on-base percentage to go along with seven homers and 21 RBIs in 39 games for Triple-A Columbus. Mills was third on the depth chart behind Matt LaPorta and Russ Canzler at first base for the Clippers. June 22, 201214 yr This comes from his Baseball Reference Profile...I'm still not sold on him but he does have a pretty impressive resume...He is still young and maybe the Reds are thinking about trying him at 3rd Base, potential low risk, high reward... With Fresno State in 2005, Mills led the Western Athletic Conference in home runs (22), slugging percentage (.699), and RBI (63), as well as multiple RBI games. He led his team in runs (54), doubles (12), triples (2), and home runs while playing in every game on his team's schedule. He was named the WAC Player of the Week on March 21. Among the season ending honors, Mills was named a Freshman All-American, an All-Western Region ABCA Honoree, a First-Team All-WAC third baseman, and the WAC Freshman of the Year. Following the season, Beau was one of 36 players nationally to be invited to the Team USA Tryouts. In 2006, Mills hit .355 with 58 RBI, 20 doubles, and 14 home runs. He led his team in hits, doubles, and RBI, and tied for the lead in home runs. His athletic accomplishments were overshadowed by his academic shortcomings though. During the summer of 2006, Mills played for the Alaska Goldpanners (Fairbanks) of the Alaska Baseball League. After a productive summer, he was named to the all-league team as a designated hitter. Baseball America named him the top prospect in the circuit. For 2007, Mills transfered to Lewis-Clark State College in Idaho at the suggestion of Keith Foulke. He was also familiar with the manager, Ed Cheff, from his time with the Goldpanners. While with Lewis-Clark, Beau established a new National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) single season home run mark with 38 (post season included). His regular season numbers included 33 HRs, 113 RBI, 91 runs, 222 total bases, and a 1.000 slugging percentage. In the final game of the 2007 NAIA College World Series, Mills hit three home runs and had eight RBI to lead his team to a 9-2 victory over Spring Arbor University. Just prior to the game, Beau was named NAIA Player of the Year. Following the game he was awarded tournament MVP honors. He was named to the NAIA All-America Team as a third baseman.
