The following Boys games will be played Monday, January 9th. None of the teams are playing on Friday, January 6.

 

How much more revenue would they generate if the games were played on Friday instead of Monday? I'm guessing it would be somewhat significant.

Dixie is hosting Scott

If Bellevue, Dixie, and Newport are getting less money because of the 9th region effort to not play Boys games on Fridays and CovCath is not by playing on Friday, does that cause problems rightly or wrongly?

All you say is true.

 

However, do you truly think that this single event is going to sway a public school AD/principal on his/her vote? I'd say no.

 

Those that are for separation are for separation. Period. They've already built up the evidence to support their decision. This single event will have zero impact on that person.

 

Its not about CCH playing on Friday. Its about perceived advantages in the areas of financial aid, unlimited boundaries, financial resources, support.

 

You may get those that are ALREADY convinced that there should be separation to say "see, I told you" but its irrelevant. Their mind is already made up.

 

This game tonight will have ZERO impact on the problem IMO.

I apologize for backtracking but I just read this entire post. Here's where I think it would affect the Dixie girls. Where do you think the boys team will go if the HHS/CCH game is on the same night as Dixie/whomever girls game?

 

At small schools, the opposite sex team is a lot of the "cheering section" for the other team. Just making a point.

Girls Baskeball is the second largest generator of revenue for the KHSAA. Yes, it brings in more $'s than football. So I would say that having some of these girls games on Friday nights is a no brainer, Title IX or not.

My father always told me it's takes to to tango..... Why is nobody getting on HHS for agreeing to play the game on a Friday Night? Doesn't Highlands have to sign a contract to agree to the scheduled game? If HHS is so pure why didn't they or for that matter any coed school just say no and then CovCath would have no choice to play on another night? Gee........

Lets assume that the boys team always supports the girls team (I don't believe that , BTW). How many boys are we talking about? What impact to revenue will they make? Heck, they probably don't even pay to get in, right?

Highlands responsibility as far as Title IX is to their girls program. If there are enough nights available for the girls to play the Primetime games they need to play and the CC game does not compete against a girls game, no problem.

Because the issue is more about and the entire season, not just particularly tonights game. At least on my end, I'm looking at the bigger picture.

I can tell you this. If CCH plays on Monday, they get the same $$ coming in.

 

So that would lead you to ask "why would CCH get the same $$ and other schools not".

Of course you don't believe that, CCH doesn't have a girls team. :fire: Seriously, it depends on the school. I've seen bigger schools that don't give much support for the other sports and smaller schools give total support. Again, the big picture. It may only be 50 bucks this week, but what about 50 bucks for every home game that the girls have?

 

 

Just playing devils advocate here.

It is ironic that in today's KY Enquirer, the HHS-CCH game story is smack dab right next to a story about the KHSAA having a mediator to handle the public/prviate debate.
