Hats off to the Birds student section. Very lively, loud, and entertaining.

Holy moly! After grabbing a bite to eat and finishing up some necessary work, how bout dem "Birds"! Here we are today looking at an all District 36 final. What! The "lowly District 36". Can't be happening right. Well all, I think we are seeing the "Coach of the year" performance or better yet, "Team of the year" or at very least, shocking performance of the year. Either way, the Birds and Breds play tonight in the FINALS!

That was a fun game and hopefully tonight's is as well. Looking for the Bird faithful to come out in droves!

You kidding me......

LOL!!!!!

One of my many valuable and intelligent sources tells me the umpires may not allow either student section to sit behind home plate for today's game.

Highlands players high fiving through the safety net after their victory was pretty cool. I would say the bigger problem may be the battle from each teams fans as to who gets the best seats.

From my vantage point it looked like a goodly amount of Highlands football players had the front row. I wouldn't want to be the one to break the news to them to move.

I do not think either should be behind the plate as well. Down the lines would be nice. It is real nice to hear that the Birds actually have a good student and community following going on for something besides football. Just goes to show what a little winning can do for you. Congrats to JB, his staff and most importantly the players for their successes to date, but there is one more hurdle out there in front of them.

Which is stupid, IMHO. Let them there, let them whoop it up. You don't see enough of it at high school baseball games. If it's okay at football games, it's okay here as well. It isn't a tennis match.

They can still have them. They'll just be down the first or third line.

Why is behind home plate forbidden? What evil sins are they looking to eliminate there that couldn't also occur down the lines?

I'm with cooperstown...would love to hear the reasoning of your source or what your source was given as a reason.

I didn't hear a reason.

Congrats to Coach JB and the Birds! Big crowd and great student support. Let's have the umpires ruin it today and send high school baseball back to the dark ages, so that no students attend games next year or maybe not even attend tonight. Lets let our students root for their team. Total bologna if they are going to even attempt to do this. It's fine to for students to stand behind the stands until tonights game. Are you serious? Check out the student crowd once this happens. The entire student section is scheduled to go to a concert tonight, but is blowing it off. Make the rule umpires and it's bad news for student support.

Who made this decision, Bud Selig?

Why is behind home plate forbidden? What evil sins are they looking to eliminate there that couldn't also occur down the lines?

If this stands, what's next? At football and basketball games, the students can't be close to the playing field/court? Not allowed to cheer too loudly? Can't dress up?

I've never placed the importance on student cheering sections that many on here have, but this possible decision by the ump has even me scratching my head. It would be a very dumb move in my opinion.

Oh, I forgot to mention: GO BIRDS!

Way to go Hardballin' Birds! Keep Rockin' !! :ylsuper:
