May 29, 201214 yr I actually like the Thunder and Westbrook. I have been on the record however that I cannot see the Thunder ever winning a title or any team with a shoot first PG like Derrick Rose. I do not blame Westbrook necessarily, he is thrown in to a position that he is just not naturally born to play. The guy is a SG. He was not much, but losing Eric Maynor earlier in the season took away a solid PG presence. For the Thunder to win the title either Westbrook has to be the PG and play the position, or Harden will have to play more point forward. We will see if it happens.
May 29, 201214 yr As for the first game, the Thunder ratcheted things up defensively and brought a lot of intensity and still lost. They really missed an opportunity to steal game 1. The bad part for the Thunder is that I did not feel the Spurs played all that well outside of the original James Harden, a.k.a. Manu Ginobili. They were rusty and it showed for the first 3 quarters until the Spurs exploded for 39 in the 4th. The final margin was 3 points, but the Spurs were up 10 in the closing minutes before some late 3 pointers were made, including the gambler's dagger at the buzzer to cover the spread for OKC. :lol: The Spurs are like a European basketball team. I agree with the person a few weeks earlier that said (not sure it was even about them) the Spurs are like the older guys at the Y that you think you can take, but when you play them they just work you up and down the court.
May 30, 201214 yr I know it's only been a game and one half but the coronation of the Thunder is going to have to wait at least one more year. I love watching the Spurs which is something I couldn't admit when they won their other titles. They don't sit around and play the isolation game, they move the ball and are very unselfish.
