June 7, 201214 yr Parker was unstoppable for the 1st quarter and held in check the rest of the game. Actually, with the exception of that quarter he was held in check the previous 12 quarters and 15 of the final 16 in all. Which is why the Spurs could never get going. The refs got caught up in the excitement but it is not the reason San Antonio could not hold on to the lead. Durant is a beast. Westbrook finally got out of his slump and went beast. Harden's beard is a beast. The move to put Thabo on the point changed the series. I do have to give credit to the Spurs. I bet 99% of people did not have them finishing with the league's best record and within two wins of the NBA Finals. I know I did not and I am a Spurs guy. I am pulling for the Thunder to win it all. That home court is college like.

June 7, 201214 yr I heard some saying they believe Harden is a max guy. Tough to make 3 max guys work with the structure of things and retain all the other parts. The other guys on the roster compliment the makeup of the team perfectly and equally as important.

On the open market you know someone would give him a max deal, so it will be up to him to take a little less to win or take the money and try to be the man somewhere else...

Exactly and that is what I was getting at. See Amar'e Stoudemire and Joe Johnson. They need to be cutting 25% of their pay to Steve Nash. Hopefully he stays and lives a nice Manu Ginobili life. Though I do not blame him for taking the money. Maybe they can do a swap for Jodie Meeks and never miss a beat....

Harden has value as max guy to the Thunder but if he goes on the open market to a crappy team that will pay him he is not going to be worth max money. Does that make sense? I'm not sure OKC can make that work with 3 max guys like you said. He's an average shooter, below average defender, and thrives in the high energy role. Look at his home vs away spits, the atmosphere OKC has at home really fuels him and he is perfect in that role.
