Braves at Reds Series 5/21 thru 5/24/2012

And I agree with SV that him announcing his retirement at the beginning of the season probably has a little to do with it. It would be weird for teams to pay tribute to someone who isn't sure if they're retiring or not .

I honestly didn't really think of that aspect. Like I said, not a big deal to me that they are doing something for Chipper. Just thought it was a little random.

Well, let's hope after his retirement tour that he doesn't have a change of heart and want to DH in the AL next season.

One thing working in the Reds favor for the last 3/4 of the season is that over half their remaining games are against the likes of the lowly Cubs, Brewers, Pirates, Astros, Rockies, Padres, and Twins.

Nice. They need to beat up on them and try to split their games against good teams. The Cards are having injury issues so the season looks promising.

Agreed. If they can play .500 ball for the year against teams with winning records, they should be in a great position to either win the division or at least sneak into a wild card (assuming they keep up the dominance of weak teams).

Got Sundays wrapped up.

Will we see Ludwick & Heisey, or just Ludwick, or just Heisey tonight?

Minor is a lefty, so could the Reds give slumping Bruce a day off?

Minor has allowed 6 or more ER in 5 of his 8 starts. In comparison Leake has allowed 5 or more ER in 3 of his 7 starts.

I look for a lot of runs, with multiple HRs from both teams tonight. JMO.

Leake with a 8+ ernie at home.

I think it will be Ludwick.

Bruce just had an off day I believe.

I don't like the idea of giving Bruce a day off.

Bruce is hitting .361 with 7 HR & 19 RBI at home. He's struggling a bit against lefties, but the weather is heating up and I'm expecting the ball to be juiced up tonight at GABP. Keep him in the lineup.

Minor's not Randy Johnson. I say Bruce starts.

LHB hitting .322/.364/.497 of Minor in his career

I think tonight's game will have a ton of offense from both teams. Minor has really struggled this year, he has a lot of potential so I'm not sure what is going on.

I will be there tomorrow night.
