May 15, 201214 yr Author Wow, you all act like Obama finally woke up and realized the hate, he only did it for political gain, not because he was tired of hearing Wright, he was the family preacher.. It called a sellout.
May 15, 201214 yr Author He sold out, I would rather him stand for what he believes in than give in to the sin of politics and play to the beat of the media. I mean he sold out his preacher of 20+ yrs, and just in convinent time for the election. At least Wright don't back down and at least believes in what he says and don't sell out.
May 15, 201214 yr Author The President of the U.S. sold out his church and preacher after 20 yrs of loyalty, just think what he will do to America if he does it to his Religious leader. God help us all in America when he wins a second term.

Jeremiah Wright - Independent Journal Review Michelle got a whopper of a raise, no wonder she can pay for so many vacations and if this isn't corruption with the Dr getting the contract, then I don't know what is. But some on here I am sure will defend him and praise him. I am also sure the liberal media won't dare mention this, thank God there are watchdogs out there.
May 15, 201214 yr "Reverend" Wright did not preach the word of God, certainly not consistently. Obama didn't turn his back on God, he turned his back on Wright's racist hate-mongering messages - the same messages that he apparently did not have any problem with for 20 years until some of the more egregious remarks were broadcast in the media. He sold out on Wright, no doubt. God? Not so much. Question: if Wright did not consistently preach the word of God, were those attending his church turning their backs to God by attending? Or, of parallel logic: if one voluntarily attends weekly meetings of a group lead by a racist spewing hate speech towards black, by attending does that person turn his/her back towards the goal of equal civil rights for all? If that one then discontinues attending that group when it becomes politically harmful to continue attending, is it okay to simply wash away the years of attendance by saying it was a smart political move? Thoughts?

Thoughts? That's a good question. The question I have is should we believe President Obama when he says he was never present at any of the speeches when Rev. Wright made anti-Semitic and outlandish and hateful race propaganda? I have a hard time believing he was present at those speeches and thought it would be okay for him to be there. How many speeches did Rev. Wright make like this? Surely this hatred he spewed wasn't his fodder for his Sunday sermons was it? I ask because I am not certain. I was baffled why President Obama would even associate with this man for twenty years and still run for political office. It's not a good look. Is it possible President Obama had no idea about Rev. Wright's speeches? How often did President Obama even go to church? Sure he was a member there but was he at church every Sunday? This whole connection has always seemed weird to me. It seems there is more to the story other than what has been told to us which is the scenario you presented in your post. I'd love to hear both sides of the story but we have only been getting one side of the story.
May 15, 201214 yr The reason that Obama turned his back on Wright was that Wright might make statements about Obama that could hurt him in his bid for the Presidency. For Obama it was all about about him. I believe Obama follows Wright's beliefs of Marxism that he preached and the hatred that Wright has for Jews, capitalism and America. Wright's sermons often were about redistribution of wealth (Marxism), hatred for various groups and American itself.

Wright's hate filled sermons (either because he was not in attendance or didn't hear about them) then I can't fault President Obama's continued attendance at Rev. Wright's church until he became aware of them. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that President Obama was aware of some of Rev. Wright's more inflammatory comments but was not present when they were delivered. Because I can't know what exactly President Obama knew or didn't know about Rev.Wright's comments, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on his attendance at the Church. However, it still looks really bad if President Obama (or emissaries of President Obama) did in fact offer money to Rev. Wright to lay low.

I have always felt like President Obama has meant well on his path to Washington but that he is/was naive to how the machine operates. Him having to offer money to Rev. Wright(which I tend to believe he probably did) lends credence to my theory on his naïveté. I hope it isn't true and it's obviously a he said/she said situation here. It's like...... I don't blame him if he did pay him but I'd rather he had chosen a different way to address it. I could even see an over zealous campaign worker/friend of the family taking it upon themself to take care of the Rev. Wright situation without President Obama's knowledge. Plausible denial.

I'm gonna disagree on one thing. Obama probably does know how the machine operates - if there is one - because he is part of the machine, or at least built by it. Most politicians are, once they reach national status level. That is why so many people called him Barack the Magical Negro. He was too perfect. Tall, light-skinned (because he is biracial) articulate, Ivy-league educated - he is too perfect. It's like he was created. And he struck at the right time. The only republican he could have beaten in the last 20 years was McCain. I'm not a birther, and yes I voted for him on his politics, and race might have played a part in it. (No problem admitting that because so many didn't vote for him because of race). Heck yea he or his undelrings offered money to Rev. Wright. It's the reason why Maxine Waters did not endorse him, when she endorsed Hillary Clinton. If you not owed a favor, then you shell out the dolla dolla bill. So in my best Sen. Clay Davis voice, "Obama, not knowing how the machine operates? SHeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee(you know the rest)!"

Cheney was a primary investor or on the board with Halliburton. The leading construction firm form the U.S getting construction contracts from the government for pipellines in the middle east.

I forgot about Maxine Waters and that whole situation. I'll have that Clay Davis signature phrase in my head the rest of the day. I need to finish the last season.
