May 7, 201214 yr Wrong. I want a strong third party candidate, I just know it's very unlikely. Tough to raise the funds to be effective, this is a huge hurdle. Yes, it IS a huge hurdle. It's always going to be tough to raise the funds until people start dedicating themselves to the idea of a third party and ponying up the funding though, instead of saying "no one will ever win as a third party candidate".

Your vote CAN help to make that happen.

Not to mention if they poll over 15% they can earn an invitation to the national debates. So not only would an increased share of the vote help them avoid legal obstacles in the future, support in general can potentially get Gary Johnson on the stage with Romney and Obama this fall.

May 8, 201214 yr I've voted 3rd party twice in my life, this is looking like the third time but it won't be a charm. Obama has shown me he can't lead and the amount of debt built up under his administration is staggering. On the other hand, I just don't trust or like Romney.

May 8, 201214 yr That's the main reason I will vote for them, to increase the relevancy of a 3rd party. Clearly the 2 party system hasn't produced the results that most of us want. While I understand your thinking (and largely agree with it), I won't vote for a third party. I just can't. Way too much at stake this November for me to vote for a 3rd party. I'd like to; I really would. But I just think I have a duty to my family and my country to not waste my vote to make a point that I'm not happy with the existing two parties.
