Didn't he drop down a level?

 

He was playing AAA for the Tribe but was 3rd in line at 1st Base...He never put up very good numbers at AAA but he hasn't been to bad at AA in his career and he is blocked in AAA...So he is down a level but he also hasn't played much above the AA level in his career...Either way it's good to see him start out hot, the Reds released Guzman their AA 1st Baseman to find him a spot to play...He probably isn't ever going to factor into the Reds equation at the Big League level but it's still nice to see him to get off to a good start...

Hamilton now has a 14% BB rate to go along with his 16% K rate. For the year, his obp is over .425, his SB rate is over 84% and his slugging is over .450.

 

Last ten games, he's hitting .400, with 11 BBs and 6 Ks. He's also stolen at least one base in nine of the past 10 games.

 

In June's 20 games (97 ABs), Hamilton has the following numbers:

 

.370/ 21 BB/ 13 Ks/ 33 SB/ 5 CS /.505 OBP/ .452 SLG/ .957 OPS

 

He has showed some real signs of improved plate discipline with an improved eye at the plate...

 

Time for some AA action!

Didi has to have a place to go for that to happen. They should go ahead and move him to the OF.

 

I agree with this as well...he has the range to play SS but is still making a ton of errors...His speed would be much more valuable in CF...Plus with BP locked up and Cozart and Didi ahead of him he is pretty well blocked in the INF...

 

However the Reds have Harris, Costanzo and Negron at AAA and at least one of them could be DFAd to make room for Didi...Janish would play 3rd and Didi would play SS and then Billy would get moved up to play SS at AA...

Lville-Felix Perez went 4-5 with 2 doubles and a run...Cody Puckett went 2-4 with a double, walk and a run...Bill Rhinehart went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI...Corky Miller went 1-2 with 2 walks, a double and a run...Donnie Joseph threw a shutout 9th with a strikeout for the save...Felix Perez in June is now hitting .347/.390/.510 on the month and has his average up to .278 on the season...Cody Puckett over his last 9 games has a hit in each game and a line of .515/.610/.758...Donnie Joseph racked his 3rd save for the Bats and has yet to allow an earned run for the AAA squad since being promoted...

 

Pensacola-Ryan LaMarre went 1-4 with a run...Brodie Greene went 1-4 with an RBI...Brian Peacock went 2-4 with a run...Andrew Means went 1-2 with a walk.

 

Bakersfield-Billy Hamilton stole his 92nd Base of the season...Bryson Smith went 1-4 with a run...Travis Mattair went 3-4 with a double, HR (11) and 3 RBI...Steve Selsky went 1-2 with a walk...Juan Duran went 1-3.

 

Dayton-Juan Perez went 1-4 with a HR (2) and 2 walks, he extended his hitting streak to 10 games and is hitting .459/.565/.568 over that stretch with 9 walks and 6 strikeouts.

 

Billings-Sammy Diaz went 2-4 with a walk, RBI and 2 runs...Jesse Winker went 3-3 with a double, RBI, run and 2 walks...Spencer Dickinson went 2-5 with 2 RBI and a run...Carlos Sanchez went 2-5 with a double, RBI and a run...Gabriel Rosa went 2-5 with a double and a run...Brennan May went 4-4 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 RBI and a run...Sal Romano allowed 1 earned (2 total) in 4 innings with a walk and 4 strikeouts...Jesse Winker is hitting .357/.472/.429 through 8 games.

 

AZL Reds-Ty Washington went 2-5 with a solo HR (2)...Denis Phipps (rehab) went 2-4 with a solo HR and 2 runs...Donald Lutz (rehab) went 4-4 with a double, 2 triples, 2 runs and 3 RBI...Wilfrel Estevez went 2-4 with an RBI...Ty Washington has reached base in every game this season and is hitting .381/.458/.762 through 5 games.

Cody Puckett is looking like a guy that could make the Reds opening day Roster next season as a bench utility guy...He is a small guy but has some good pop and decent speed...He has also played everywhere but 1st and Catcher in his career...As long as the Reds don't bring in any Wilson Valdez/Willie Harris type guys next season Puckett should have a decent shot...

And he gives up a hit but still a very impressive outing so far...The Reds could use a lefty with a mid 90s heater and good command...He needs to work on the slider and changeup but they are improving...He has basically cruised thru the system so far with no true secondary pitches...I am very excited about Corcino and Cingrani and hope they get some time in AAA soon...
