April 28, 201214 yr It was FREEZING last night at the game. Jay Bruce made a poor play for the Astros to get their first 2 runs. He dove forward for a ball in RF with 2 outs. Ball went all the way to the wall & Stubbs picked it up. Runner on 1st scored easily. I think it was Altuve who hit it & ended up with a "triple". Next pitch, Astros line it back up the middle to take a 2-0 lead. That's on Bruce, in my opinion. With that said, Mike Leake was not fooling ANYBODY last night. I've always been somewhat suspect of Leake, mostly because he made the jump directly from college to the MLB. I was a much bigger fan of Travis Wood (I'm partial to lefties), but he's been horrible in AAA this year too.

April 28, 201214 yr Jay Bruce is on a hot streak with another HR today. 7 for his last 10 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs over the last 3 games.
April 28, 201214 yr Cueto not exceptionally sharp today but does manage to throw 7 shutout innings and must have really had to work today throwing 120 pitches. Good job by the ace, era down to 1.39. Now turn it over to the pen and hopefully he can get his 3rd win.
