January 31, 201313 yr Love Bama Shakes. WEB EXCLUSIVE: Alabama Shakes Perform "I Ain't The Same" - CONAN on TBS - YouTube
January 31, 201313 yr I'm just bumping this up to see if time and the growing popularity of Alabama Shakes has changed anyone's perception of this song. Brittany Howard is incredible. Does she know she's 23? I had never heard of Alabama Shakes until I saw this thread. I have listened to two of the songs, the first and last in this thread. The second is better than the first, but not good enough to make me like it. I am surprised Brittany Howard is 23. She looks and sounds 40. To me the music is like a screaming monologue. Having said that, the rest of the band sounds okay.
February 1, 201313 yr It took a second to grow on me. The vocals didn't do it for me much at first and I have always had issues with screamers in the vocal department but that was a small part of the song and I enjoyed it. Would I say that I went nuts over it, no but it was quality music.
February 1, 201313 yr Yeah. Not a fan here, either... When they first started strumming the guitar it sounded like they were going to have a little Warren Haynes/Government Mule going on.."I'll be the One" in particular. Talented. Just not doing anything for me..
February 2, 201313 yr Oh it wasn't that bad, haha. But if you're really looking to get back at him for making you sacrifice 4 minutes of your life...what's your favorite song? My favorite song
