Who is in the running for Caldwell County?

Featured Replies

I'll be shocked if Barnes doesn't end up with the job, but he'll have to be approved by about a 13-member search committee first.

Whoever the new coach is figures to have a pretty solid talent base for the next 5-7 years.

As for wins and losses, that may depend a lot on realignment in 2007.

Coach Barnes is from caldwell and should be their next coach if he wants it. The community of Princton really likes him and was offered the job before Hatchell took it. Should be an easy decision for him seems like his program has come full circle and has struggled the last several years with low numbers and support.

Why have they struggled with low numbers? You've got a 4A school and you've got low numbers. Why?

What has barnes done ant Daviess County??

Has he been anywhere else besides there?

To name a few others,Craig Clayton,Marty Jaggers, and Dixie Jones were all born and lived alot of their lives in Caldwell County.

I do not know who WILL get the Caldwell Co. job, but in my opinion, I know who will NOT--Marty Jaggers.

Not the Jaggers talk again. Leave him alone and give him some time to win a title at Mercer County.

Marty was interested. So was Joe. However, neither applied, since most figured Barnes was a lock.

That's both of their actual "hometowns", noone could blame either of them if they did infact 'look into' the Caldwell job. Marty Jaggers has a great thing going on in Mercer County. That fieldhouse that they are building at Mercer, one word, WOW!! There is two better in the state than it, UofL and UK!! If you think I'm joking, you need to take a drive down HWY 127, to the Mercer County Schools campus.

I've heard that Marty is the second highest paid head coach in the state. I have no doubt that Mercer County's a pretty good gig.

However, his track record is that of someone who moves on quickly. I would expect his name to come up with a lot of job openings.

No, he's at Bowling Green.

He played at Caldwell and has coached at Hopkinsville (girls) and Allen County-Scottsville.

Assistant with the Purples?

Head Coach at BG

Good for D.G., I couldn't be happier for him.

Okay, now back to Caldwell Co. looking for a football coach.

Just had to look into the whereabouts of my Fraternity Brother. :thumb:

Sherrill was at Allen County until this season. He took the Bowling Green job this summer.

I personally taught D.G. how to rebound by blocking his butt out in middle school practice

I was hoping he would get the Caldwell job a couple of years ago but another former Tiger, Michael Fraliex, got the job.

(Caldwell likes to hire former Tigers ;) )
