This is a premium, for-pay opinion board. "I pays me dues and I gives me opinion." How's this? I humbly believe that Mercer County will win this game. In my humble opinion, I think the score will be: Mercer County 42 Russell 15 This is not cockiness or a slight towards the great program at Russell. I have all the faith in the world in the Titans and I think this game is a runaway for them.

If I were a homer and/or unrealistic, I would have put Mercer at #1. I sincerely, think the Titans can beat the other 6 teams.

To be fair, Russell had a 4th quarter score, too, to make their score higher. With 10:18 to play, it was a 14 point game (34-20). The final Russell TD came on a 60 yard pass to Kasey Clark with 7:45 left. I wouldn't call that JV vs Varsity. But I agree that last year means nothing. I didn't bring it up. I am only refuting the nonsense that keeps popping up.

The Final score was 41-26. It was a very competitive game with Russell finding the endzone on some big plays like the 68 yard run by Kasey Clark on the first play of the second half. Russell did build a 34-6 lead in the third quarter but Mercer was able to cut it to 34-20 with 10:00 to play in the game. It wasn't as lopsided as you would like to think. Mercer had 307 yards total offense; Russell had 359. Yeah, that's real dominating.

None, of course, but that wasn't the point you made. You stated that you never remembered Mercer being in the title game. We were there as Harrodsburg High School in 1988 (loss to Pikeville) and in 1996 an 1997 (losses to Beechwood). As for your batting average, it is about to drop to .666, IMHO.

No, but Harrodsburg was three times. Harrodsburg's history is now part of the new consolidated Mercer County High School and their tradition follows. I guess our three appearances trumps your two!

When did I make a prediction about Lincoln County?

1-Danville 2-Boyle County 3-Mercer County 4-Casey County 5-Lincoln County 6-Garrard County I know that Boyle lost to Mercer but I think that was an aberration. I really think Boyle is still the better team. I also liked what I saw early in the game last week from Casey County.

Unfortunately, Mercer Country is due a let down. I think Newport wins this one and Mercer gets the comeuppance that many want to see.

Not the Jaggers talk again. Leave him alone and give him some time to win a title at Mercer County.
