Petrino would make the program more attractive to better coaches than Joker will after his three years are up. I watch now because I love UK. To hire Petrino, IMO, would be selling your soul for the possibility of a couple years of 8-9 wins. Anyone thinking Petrino would take UK to the top of the SEC is insane. He would be worth a couple wins a year. And to me that isn't worth hiring a scum like Petrino. As soon as a bigger program came calling you could kiss him good bye.

When Joker is fired who will want to coach at UK? After Petrino left UK the football program would be in better shape for the successor making it a more attractive job. The way we are headed Willie Taggert will probably be the next head coach at UK. I'd rather someone with a better pedigree come in and take over. It think Petrino would make that happen. For me it is worth the risk.

April 12, 201214 yr If the coach who is charged with following Petrino is asked to clean things up, then it can become ugly. Kragthorpe wasn't as bad a coach as the U of L job made him out to be. What he was asked to do was clean things up. The same thing happened with UK and Mumme...it took Brooks a while to clean things up there as well.
