just hope that school lets him see it through. I know its HHS and there is no pressure to win baseball but for JB he has got to win or he will go crazy soon. no sense in a good coach holding him self back at a school were football is king. Sorry soup, but I have to disagree. There are close to 15 next year football players playing baseball. Not meant directly to you but anyone in the know, I am curious who might help the BatBirds that are playing football and track and not baseball. I can think of one, but not too many more.

 

I'm thinking it's some other variables other than football. But we have been down this road before.

come on man give it a break!! really other variables? what does that mean? I have never been down a road with you. i just hope the kids who have quite football tp play baseball think about what they are doing to the program. Young Whitford and Hennigen made great additions to football but now want to concentrate on just baseball.

I understand now...well I am not saying they shouldnt I was only stating that it seems to be a crime that a couple kids are doing it and it shouldnt be due to the fact that tons of kids play football only.

 

Whitford has always been a very nice athlete and good basketball player as well. I believe he has hung up the sneakers as well for the baseball cleats.

Thats not right either. What ever happened to the days when kids played everything they could. Look you weren't a good football player but you stlll tried. I wasn't a good track guy but still tried. We needed the numbers or bodies. Look Dale has 90 var/jv guys and 60 fresh. He doesn't need bodies. Baseball n basketball needs the bodies

Now that is funny !!! LOL Thanks buddy...I would have been much better if I wasnt on my back just about every play thanks to your blocking. But I digress.....

 

I think kids should play as many sports as possible, big proponent of that. It is very hard to do at Highlands though. Not many kids play 3 sports.

Shouldn't it be the kid's option to choose what sports he/she wants to play. If the kid wants to focus on one sport, then that should be his/her perogative. But if the kid wants to play more then so be it. As coaches, they shouldn't be limiting the kids ability to play what they want because they are simply chasing wins and championships.

No one is saying it is not the kids choice. That is exactly who should be making the choice. Q is simply stating that there are not that many multi-sport athletes at HHS.

I guess I get the impression that the kids feel that they are having to choose one sport because if not, then they get left behind on depth charts, rotations or lineups. If that is the case, then it seems like coaches would have some influence. I'm not saying that is happening directly, just an impression I have gotten.
