  1. Because it is part of the official police report. Yes, it is Zimmerman’s statement, but his injuries would indicate he was attacked. If someone hit me and then was on top of me slamming my head against the ground, I would probably fear for my life and if I had a gun I guarantee I would use it. One point we can agree on is I don’t know the whole truth either, but there seems to be a lot more to this case than the sensational media headlines of “white man kills unarmed black kid” indicates. I’m willing to let the investigation takes its course before hanging Zimmerman in the public square, which is what some seem to want.
  2. Many experts have said the word he used was “punk”, others say it was the racial epitaph you refer to. Either way, what was said on the recording is far from conclusive.
  3. If I saw someone suspicious in my neighborhood, there is no law that I’m aware of that would prevent me from following them or even asking them a question, regardless of whether I’m involved in a community organization or not. Does someone have to have authority to follow someone else down the street? Does following someone justify being assaulted and having your head slammed against the ground? We don’t know what exactly occurred between Zimmerman and Trayvon, what was said exactly, or what motivation Trayvon had for striking Zimmerman and we may never know. However, simply following Trayvon doesn’t automatically mean Zimmerman was a racist. Many of the facts reported in this case would indicate that Zimmerman was following him because of the recent burglaries in the area and because Zimmerman seems to be a very active, probably overzealous, member of the neighborhood watch group. Assuming Zimmerman overstepped his bounds by getting out of his vehicle and following Trayvon, that still doesn’t justify Trayvon attacking him. Unless Zimmerman physically grabbed, shoved, hit, or restrained Trayvon, what justification did Trayvon have for hitting and slamming his head against the ground? At that point if Zimmerman had a reasonable fear for his life, then deadly force is justified. Was Zimmermans actions that put him in the situation completely justified, maybe not, but Trayvon’s actions weren’t either based on the facts I’ve read.
  4. Obviously, none of us know the true facts of the case. However, based on what’s been reported, Zimmerman was part of the Neighborhood watch program and there had been several burglaries in the area with witness descriptions of young black males involved. Zimmerman sees a young black make who he doesn’t recognize in the community. He follows Trayvon, Trayvon attacks Zimmerman, and Zimmerman shoots Trayvon. Was Zimmerman profiling? Probably. Was he profiling based on racial bias or based on the witness descriptions of the burglary suspects? I don’t know, but the media has certainly made it out to be a hate crime, when many of the reported facts don’t point toward it IMO.
  5. Seems to me that if Trayvon hadn’t attacked Zimmerman he wouldn’t have been shot. It also seems the media initially reported Zimmerman as white, showed pictures of a younger Trayvon, and didn’t initially mention that Zimmerman was attacked. All of which misrepresented the truth and helped form public opinion in the case.
  6. Minor detail. Of course I rarely text or ride trains, so why not punish the masses to save a few?
  7. Smartphone’s have GPS receivers built into them. How long until phones are programmed to prevent texting when the phone is moving at more than a set speed, say 5 miles an hour?
  8. That sucks, but at least it's supposed to be warm and dry the next couple of days.
  9. Words per minute (WPM) 57 Keystrokes 308 Correct words 58 Wrong words 2 Some of you are some serious speed demons.
  10. OSU has no interest in scheduling UC, statements by Smith and Matta this week seem to confirm that policy continues. As a Buckeye fan I think it’s time for OSU to schedule UC for HOME and HOME in both football and basketball.
  11. True. Unlike in Kentucky, Ohio State has more pull than the State Government.
  12. Russell might end up jack slapping him and being removed for assault.
  13. I think CBS would be hard pressed to find another group of meager idiots who would blindly follow him now that America knows how big of a spoiled jerk he really is.
  14. One of them, but what makes it worse is that the other idiots on the show set back and let him run the game. Regardless of how big a target he might have been, laying down and following Colton for two weeks is about 13 days too long IMO.
  15. Great assessment, but I believe it will be: Ohio State- 67 Cincinnati- 64 Buford Hits a 3 at the buzzer to give OSU the lead and win.
  16. Load the 4 wheeler up with fuel cans My “camping box” with tents, sleeping bags, cooking stuff, etc… Assault rifle, hunting rifle, shotgun, and couple of handguns My ammo case Lots of water All the beer and non-perishable food I can grab (notice beer comes first) Fire safety box with important papers Outdoor/hunting clothes Maybe the wife And head for the hills
  17. Will you let them have BGP accounts? I agree with your concern over malware and social engineering, but the worst social engineering is conducted by children on their parents. A lot can happen in 12 – 15 years.
  18. Very true, but we hold ourselves as Americans to a higher standard and deliberately killing innocent civilians is not ok. Not to mention how many more coalition service members, including Americans, and civilians will be killed because of this?
  19. I think that’s part of his plan, decimate the strong players on the male tribe then team up with some of the women after the merge.
  20. You should now be up by one. Good luck.
