Of course he wouldnt want to play the team he coached and loves with no regret but all of that is going to half to be put aside at game time and then play and at the end of night they go there separate ways. If both teams dont put it aside its going to be a long game.

I think the kids have taken a step forward with Deaton as the head coach. Deaton was there with the kids the day Lickert announced he was leaving. But you cant expect the kids not to get emotional and fired up especially the 16 returning seniors that worked hard for him. It will be a good hard hitting contest. It basically comes down to who executes the most on offense and stops the big play. Good luck to both teams!!!!!

There is only eleven people on the field at once Holmes dont seem to have much depth either. I think it will be a game of field position and special teams Dayton has been struggling with the kicking games and they look to patch things up this week. Also Dayton has to stop the big play from happening should be a good game well see what happens Friday night!!

Dayton will come out fired up and ready to play. They get there starting center back this week which will make them 100% healthy since early July. I think people will be surprised with the speed of Dayton. Dayton will take away what Lickert does best which is hurry up offense and call the plays on the line he cant do that because Dayton knows the plays so that takes away some of the speed. Dayton wins 21-14

So what time does the varsity play?

If Lickert did what he did at Dayton he will try the squib kick majority of the time. Which means that there opponents will have good field position arouond the 40

Richardson is the only underclassmen that starts. He is a right defensive end could come in and play RB in a short yardage situation. Lewallen only played JV defensive end could have made some big plays but made soph. mistakes he will get better over the season and might earn some PT.

Can Spencer handle the beating that would come along with that? Also Joe's only good for inside hes not fast enough to get the corner.

How did Holmes o-line and d-line look.

Rookie qb's played a big part in the game. Keith Searcy is an absolute nut one of the best linebackers in nky. In the answer about the D1 lineman he did alright plenty of talent and potential but just dont get into the game unless someone lights a fire under him but after that hes a monster he shouldnt be stopped at all this year.

I dont remember any HC receiver being cheap shoted. But Dayton should be healthy to start the season Young and Ellis were out with the coaches choosing not to risk re-injury when they need to be healthy to start the season. In the first five games including pre-season they play HC,Sk,Holmes,Scott, and the beechies to start the season. Thats a a difficult scheduele for a 1a team to start the season with most of there players starting both ways so they need to be healthy. If not its going to be a long season for the devils.

The bad thing about the kid who had a cheap shot is he is a 3 year starter and should no better. No excuses for that but yes Young and Ellis would have made a difference with providing more speed to a Dayton team that was already fast and getting after it all night. It will be interesting to see how teams handle the speed of the recievers.

From the way it sounds Holmes didnt come ready to play or was NCC that dominate?

Daytons defense was nasty at the beginning but sitting on the sideline while the jv played looked like it bored them. But one of Daytons runningback ran a sweep and would have scored an 85 yrd TD but they had meshes on which was hanging and he got choked so he had to go down. HC and Dayton both wore white

Yea but what about the schools that start school this week? Also the next week or two they half to practice later in the day when it is reaching its hottest points.

Dayton should be pretty good this year with 11 seniors starting on defense with 1 junior and the offense being all seniors who are experienced and hungry for the season to begin
