  1. I know we tend to agree on a lot but this one I can't. Last time I checked, Peyton Manning wasn't a lot of hype. As for Burke, I think he'll be just fine if he goes to NC State. Schaeffer is a good athlete, but tends to have off field troubles. Don't know if he'll last there long either.
  2. As of right now it's kind of in the air. There are a couple of canidates for the job but it is just too early to tell. I'll get back with you closer to the season on this one and let you know.
  3. Conner's 06' Schedule @ So. Dearborn vs. Highlands Bye @ Fern Creek vs. Holmes @ CC @ Dixie @ Ryle @ Scott vs. Simon Kenton vs. Boone Co.
  4. In (Pre) pre-season 4A I would put it like this: 1. Boone 2. Dixie 3. Ryle 4. A tie between SK, CC, and Conner. 5. Holmes 6. Scott In NKY as a whole: 1. Highlands 2. Cov Cath 3. Boone 4. NCC 5. Dixie 6. Beechwood 7. Ryle 8-10. SK, CC, and Conner
  5. 4A - St. X 3A - Lex Cath 2A - Owensboro Catholic 1A - NCC T.B. - 49 pts.
  6. I think the game will be a lot closer than last time. Trinity has gotten better, while St. X has not improved or get any worse IMO. This being said St. X still wins in a close one. St. X 35 Trinity 31
  7. #1 defense vs. #1 offense. I know the saying goes "offense wins games but defense wins championships". Not this time around. Lex Cath's Burke gets it done and just outscores Bowling Green. Final: Lex Cath 28 Bowling Green 24
  8. I agree. It's a shame that it works out this way, but 1A ball is traditionally looked down on when there is such fine talent playing in it. Colleges tend to look at the larger schools though. Good Luck to Sammy, I think he would excel in the D-1AA or something like that. Maybe WKU or Morehead St. Or even Georgetown playing NAIA ball.
  9. 5 - Bardstown 3 - Owensboro Cath. 3 - Lex. Cath 1 - NCC 1 - Belfry 1 - Bowling Green 1 - St. X 1 - Trinity T.B. - 48 pts.
  10. I didn't think I actually had that good of a week until I saw this. That's the second time this season I tied for first but was beat out by a tiebreaker.
  11. Not a problem. I actually agree with you. You can't fault one or the other. I do think they are all very comparable and would love to have all three on my team. Congratulations to all of them, they were all very deserving.
  12. I have a bias as well. But I would say that there are not many WR's in NKY (maybe even KY for that matter) that can make plays like Lance did this season. I'm with you CSHS81, Lance shouldn't be punished for Conner's offensive struggles.
  13. Dixie and Conner are no way "one-dimensional". Look at the last couple of seasons. Dixie and Conner both had about 2,000 yds. a piece in both seasons on passing. Then they both had close to, if not 1,000 yds. rushing. Doesn't look one-dimensional to me. Looks pretty balanced. This season, I'm sure Dixie had close to 1500 yds. passing. Conner had around 1200 yds. passsing. Conner also had about 1,000 yds. rushing. Can't speak for Dixie. These stats would make this poster believe that both teams are pretty well balanced.
  14. That would be awesome for Boone Co., not to mention the NKY 4A district. However, Boone's running attack will eventually fail them. They run the ball extremely well and they will run the ball on Trinity for probably 3 and half quarters or so. This could lead it to be a close game going into the 4th quarter. With it being in St. Matthews, and Trinity having the experience factor over Boone's sophomores, I'll go with Trinity. But not by much. Trinity - 35 Boone - 24 Good Luck Rebels!! Represent NKY well down there.
  15. Congratulations go out to Eric. Besides from going on to playing at the next level, he his going to get one great education. Good luck to Eric at Yale.
  16. Nice Post SM32. Your boys definitely suprised me this season. After the first couple of games, I thought you guys were headed down the long road we over here in Hebron traveled this season. See you at Dixie next season.
  17. Trinity "upsetting" Boone Co. Shuan Alexander's senior year was sort of a suprise. I believe Boone pretty much dominated everyone that year behind the power of Alexander. Another that I saw on here and have to agree with was the 83' AAA State Championship team at Conner. I know not many people expected them to roll on to the Carpet and win the big one. It was a great win for the school and they can still claim to be the only team in NKY 4A who owns a state title.
  18. 5 - Rockcastle 3 - Somerset 3 - Henry Clay 1 - Boyle Co. 1 - Highlands 1 - Warren Central 1 - DeSales 1 - Danville 1 - NCC 1 - Ft. Campbell T.B. - 54 pts.
  19. Yes, but I think if we don't hound them about it and just get it done on the field we will get it. I am a NKY 4A fan, and I do side with the Louisville 4A followers, primarily the Trinity fans. I will take more than just Dixie beating Trinity one time and are almost won games to garner the respect that they get. But don't worry, we are on the verge of accomplishing such things. It is only a matter of time before we get the respect that we have longed for.
  20. I for one do understand where you are coming from. I had the fortunate opportunity to play college ball for a team that dominates like your Rock's do. (Just look at the avatar to find out the team and if you still don't know just ask). I experienced the players, coaches, and community have the same attitude that you have right now. It's ok to be passionate and confident in your team. I'm actually glad that you are. I myself am that way towards my team, Conner H.S. I wish more people would act that way towards Conner, it's one factor in building a strong, winning program. So don't let any of my earlier posts seem as an attack on you or Trinity. I have the up most respect for Trinity. If there were a H.S. program that you wanted your own program to immitate, then that would be a great one to choose from. All we as NKY fans ask is that you show us the same respect. Do we always expect to win against the Big III. I answer that in a big fat NO. But we are trying to build something as a whole in our district. I think we are on the verge of doing so. We have some teams that may be just a few short years away from competing with the likes of yourself and St. X. So to you LSU Rock and the rest of the Trinity faithful on here. We respect you and Trinity. All we ask in return is that you show us the same respect.
  21. I say that 3 out of 4 will make it to the Final Four. Unfortunately for Boone Co., they do have to go down and face Trinity. NCC, Newport, and HHS will advance to the Final Four. NCC and HHS will advance to Louis. and Newport may have a chance at State, depending on who they face. There team speed, and offensive fire power is down right scary sometimes.
  22. Nice Post!! I would have to say that I agree. Yes, more times than not, Trinity does have the game won before it has started. But the Trinity fans on here could atleast be humble enough to tell us why there going to win. You do have to do more than just show up. Anything can happen on Friday Nights as you Rock Fans found out the hard way last year. Will history repeat itself again? Who knows. We won't find out until this coming Friday night at St. Matthews.
  23. I highly doubt that Ft. Campbell will be knocked out. Who do all 3 teams play this coming week?
  24. I totally agree. Look at Boone Co. this season and last season. They were a three seed both years and they ended up in the semis last season. This season they are in the Regional Finals against Trinity. With just a two team playoff you wouldn't have a team like Boone Co. in there and that would make a serious change in the playoffs. At the sametime, if you only have 4 teams in a district, then it kind of takes the glory away of making the playoffs when you take all 4 teams. So your kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place on this issue.
  25. I never said they would win. I just don't think they get shutout nor do they lose by 52 points either.
