Maybe the administration thing is true. What is wrong with telling the truth about admin??? They can fire a coach and cause his life to be a wreck but you cant call admin out. I strongly disagree.

I will have to say this I don't know much about Mercer program but I will say this, if you get divorced 1 maybe 2 times you might be able to blame it own your spouse but 3, 4 or 5 times you probable need to take a good long look in the mirror! You say long haul, ADMIN ARE FIRING coaches all over the state after 1 or 2 bad years! Coaches don't have a long haul. Say what you want and people will say long haul and when the guy has 2 or 3 bad years all the people talking about the long haul will be the ones saying 'FIRE HIM NOW'!!!! I saw there freshman play this year and IMO they better give the guy 5 or 6 years to make it happen but I just don't see in todays world no coach will even get 3 years if his team is bad! The problem today is that 30 years ago old coaches became Principals and Supers. They knew how to run a team and knew how hard it is to win games. They knew that public schools are going to have ups and downs. Today you have to go back to college and get your principal and super certification and coaches don't have time to do that because they are working 12 months a year trying not to get fired!! Now days you have some English teacher that never ran a team, organization much less running a big school and they have no idea how hard it is to win.

The way these admin are firing coaches for having 1 bad season I would say coaches will now be looking over their shoulder like they are at a back stabbing convention!!!!! Coaches new motto will be "get them before they get you"!!!!!

IMO if you take a head coaching job at a school that cant get you a teaching job YOU ARE MAKING A SERIOUS MISTAKE!!!!! Head Coaches need to be in the school not only the head coach but asst coaches. If they can't get you a job in the school then they don't take it to seriously.

He is off to a 1 high school district!! And that is key, the Super cares about sports and wants to see them do well. I would say the super at Boone Co. didn't know who Boone was playing on Friday nights.

And you cant blame coaches for protecting themselves and their families. Than is how it will be to because when you fire a guy after one bad year or to get who you think is a better coach it is getting bad and now coaches wont think twice about leaving a place. Again it will be the get them before they get you mentality!

Guru all this love for chuck smith. He rolled out on Madison Central after 3 weeks! Gave his word to parents, admin, AND KIDS and rolled on them in 3 weeks. That is the guy you want? And by the way won all those state titles with 3 or 4 NFL guys. And in Ky if you have 1 D1 guy you should win 7 games much less NFL guys!

What is going to happen and I think already has is coaches are going to stay somewhere 3 or 4 years and then leave for another job before they get fired. So just be prepared their thinking will be"get them before they get you"!!! And you cant blame them. heck when a principal is bad they move them to the board and give them a raise!!!!!!

It is about winning anywhere high school or college! If it wasn't Coach Jaggers would still have a job don't let any admin or at least most of them tell you any diff. How many great guys have you seen stay somewhere that had losing records but they were good guys. Doesn't happen.

I could see that but IF EKU had won 10 or 11 games gone deeper in the playoffs I think Dean Hood Wouldve gotten a D1 head job which would have paid the asst 4 times what they were making at EKU so I really don't think the Larue job was on his mind. They won 9 but I speculate that had they won 2 more or gone to 3rd round of playoffs it would have been big pay day for the staff at bigger school. But you are right they got a good one.
