I'm not going to get too far into this; otherwise, this thread will end up belonging in the Politics/Religion forum. But, I will tell you that a few years ago, a school system near me missed more than a month of school due to illness and an ice storm. The tacked on quite a bit at the end of the year, the state "forgave" some of their missed days, and then they actually allowed the teachers to make up 2 weeks of missed school with no students there. A teacher told me they basically had a potluck lunch everyday, cleaned up their classrooms and worked on their lesson plans for the following year. And that was considered "making up snow days".

If the roads in your scenario are so great, why aren't we having school that day?:confused: My point was: if evening activities couldn't be held on a snow day, perhaps some schools wouldn't be so quick to call school off on days when it's really not that bad.

I agree with your position. I don't like the idea of having sporting events, dances, etc. if you don't go to school that day. If they couldn't have extracurriculars on snow days, many schools might not be so quick to call it off. By early this afternoon, the county school here had already cancelled for tomorrow. Honestly, the roads are clear now. At the most, they should have had a delay.:irked:

Mason County is having a pretty good season, considering they are in a rebuilding period (no, they're not just re-loading). Leave it at that; worry about who you've got, not who you used to have, or who you might have later. Congratulations to Campbell County and good luck to Mason County. I'm sure the Royals will have a good season. Jeez...

I had a good time. There weren't any bad seats, and I got to see a great game. I do feel the security was a bit over the top, as I heard a lady getting hassled over her baby's bottles of milk, but otherwise I thought it was great. Not every kid or team gets to play at Rupp, so I thought it was a great opportunity for these boys to play in an arena like this.:thumb: I feel lazy, because I didn't try to meet anybody from BGP.:irked:

Hinson is the elementary A.D. And I agree, why not get into some tournaments with people you're not going to play in the season?

Yes, great game by the Saints.:thumb: Andy Clarke, we're really going to miss you next year. And Stephen Mason was great, as usual. The Saints should really be proud of the effort they put forth today. Stenzel and Zollo are great players. What really impressed me about Clark was the good sportsmanship and conduct all of their players exhibited throughout the entire game. There was absolutely no obnoxious attitude or arrogance. They let their play speak for itself. That reflects very well upon the kids, the coaches and the school. Good luck in the next round.:thumb:

6 times is too many.:irked: Part of the problem was that they were both in the Fleming County tournament in December. Last year(2007-08), St. Patrick played Deming 4 times, Augusta 4 times, Bishop Brossart 3 times and Bracken County twice. What's their A.D. going to do to improve the schedule?

I think the venue will be fine. It's no big deal to get there, the AA is easy. I'm thinking to make a day of it and finish at the Knotty Pine on the Bayou Saturday evening. I'm just glad my school is still in at this point of the season.:thumb:

Last week at a girls game, the refs weren't calling it at all and I did actually count up to 14 seconds at one point. But I didn't yell about it. Unfair foul disparity seems to be more of an issue at the lower levels, rather than high school, in my experience. For example, I was at a 7th and 8th grade conference game where the visiting team had something like 37 fouls and the home team had 5. Both of the referees had a grandchild on the home team. Ugh.

Nice! The score of their district game last year was 94-53, I'm sure this one will be similar. Congratulations to the Saints on extending their season, and good luck to both teams in the regional tournament.

Everything that was crappy about the refs, coaches, players, fans and venue from School "A" 66, School "B" 58.
