How about the residence of the superintendent? Is that playing loose with the rules.

It certainly hasn't been posted for 30 days. The administration in place at Newport seems to play a little loose with the rules. Maybe this will be the time it bites them in the butt.

Is Henderson County a better job than Oldham County? Personally I think I would rather have been at Oldham than wither Pikeville or Henderson County.

Lets get serious here. Newport in 2006 wasn't Newport in 2005. Newport in 2006 struggled to beat Dayton and Ludlow. Newport was not a quality opponent. Boyle was 6-6. Why don't you ask the Boyle County faithful if they felt last years team was one of their "quality" teams? OC, Larue and Russell were three of the top double A teams in the state. Not taking anything away from them, but there might be a "little" difference in the state between them and teams like Bowling Green, Covington Catholic, Highlands, etc. Beating Larue does not necessarily make me like your chances in taking on Highlands. In short in 2007 Mercer County will be a 5A team playing a 5A schedule unlike last year when they were a 3A team playing a 2A schedule. They may step up like Boyle and prove everyone wrong, but there is certainly reason to be skeptical.

Eastern is D-I and ther is no designation as I-AA anymore.

The NCAA will not allow you to play D-1 in other sports, but D-III in football. Playing non-scholarship D-1 was Dayton's and Morehead's answer to this issue.
