  1. Maybe in your mind it is, but I don't see any relation. Each argument would have its own pro's and con's. I am not a big fan of well if you are going to test X then you better test Y and Z. If it makes sense to test school personal then do it, but don't do it because you are testing athletes.
  2. Maybe it isn't so much about private/public or even open/closed. Maybe the real issue is about wealth. Sure seems like the more wealthy a school is the more likely you are to succeed in sports There are exceptions, most notably boys basketball, but in general wealth is a pretty good measuring stick.
  3. You didn't answer the question. Instead you muddied it with another question that is a seperate issue. Those merits could certainly be debated. Again why would you not want to know if your kid was doing performance or recreational drugs?

  5. Why wouldn't you want your child to be tested? I would want to know.
  6. The one thing they both had in common was complete domination in recruiting during their runs.
  7. Seems like Lute Olson turned us down several times. You will never get what you want if you don't ask. I have no interest in Miller at KY.
  8. There are only a handful, so I guess I am right.
  9. Nice to see the Scott contingent weighing in on what a terrible hire this is. Actually Mr. Borchers avoided career suicide when he backed out of the Scott job. I think hiring Borchers showed a lot of courage, which I believe could pay dividends for the young school
  10. The people at Highlands need to figure out that is why there baseball program has been terrible for the better part of ten years, but that is for another thread.
  11. Outside of the already mentioned kids from OH who have signed with D-1 schools there wasn't a lot of D-1 talent in this game IMO. KY had no one I can see contributing at a low-major (is that even a term used?) D-1 school.
  12. So if there was a quality soccer player as an elementary student and that was that child's sport, went you think they still went to Beechwood, even though that sport wasn't offered. Great logic. You can't form a team at the high school level from groups of kids who have never played and expect success, however, you can't expect kids who are playing the sport to come to Beechwood if there is no program. You tell me which has to come first? I would contend that your first point is wrong, but this one borders on silly ( (I would use a stronger word ). A football player who has never played soccer would play soccer at just about the same level a soccer player who has never played football and tried to play.
  13. I can't believe that would be true for the KY/IN game.
  14. Nice. If you want a team, then you have to wait until you get into high school and then we will consider. Or we might not. That is the chance you will have to take.
  15. This isn't a all-star game that attracts the big names. Occassionally you will get some top players, but more than anything this game is a last chance show case for uncomitted players.
  16. I can't speak to their time across the river, but the two times Cov. Cath. beat Highlands in 2006 they had the better team and the better QB.
  17. I am hearing more than enough interest.
  18. I have heard that Beechwood is going to have a team in the fall. Is this true? What leve will they play? JV?
  19. Would it be possible for We We, the great defender of the man who needs no defending to give us the full scoop. Why do neither Schrand or Maile sit on Cov. Cath's bench anymore? Was Listerman practicing a bit of old fashioned nepotism or not? Did the Listerman get some real pressure to leave this year or not?
