Some do. Its really sad I know. Again this just a few of the Mason County fans that do this, just like a handfull had planned that party. Its amazing how a few fans that are nuts can change the way the rest of the state views an entire county.

I was there too. It is true. I am a Mason County Alum but I HATE it that they do this. I threw up a little bit in my mouth when I heard it.

Great coach, but I have no respect for him at all.

Why do you need an excuse to go to Hawaii?

It is interesting to go to rivals.com and look at the 2008 and 2009 recruiting classes and see how many of those players play for the teams that will be there. It will be without a doubt a great showcase of talent.

I just recieved word from someone very close to the Mason County Basketball Program that the team has accepted an invitation to play in Honolulu Hawaii next season in the Iolani Prep Classic. The tournament will be December 18-22 of 2007. The teams participating are: Mason County High School- Kentucky Westchester- Los Angeles, CA Arlington Country Day- Jacksonville, FL Rice- nyc Montrose Christian- Rockville, MD Leflore- Mobile, AL Mount Vernon- ny 5 of these teams were in the USA Today top 25 this past season so it will be some very stiff compitition. This is a huge honor for the Royals and the state of Kentucky and I wish the Royals the best of luck and hope that they show the nation what Kentucky Basketball is all about.

I'm very surprised Hopson hasn't gotten more votes. Isn't he a top 10 player in his class???

It isn't that big of a gap but Darius is better. He dominated their head to head matchup. Have you seen them both play? I have multiple times.

Because Miller is better. Plain and simple.

Where are you from? If you think Darius isn't a first teamer, you have to be biased for someone else. Have you ever seen him play?

I know what you mean by top 3. I know for a fact that Mason County's sophomore class never lost a game in middle school (WITHOUT Russ Middleton) and their AAU team was runner-up in the state a few times. The class of 2005 only lost two games in middle school and also had a state AAU runner-up. The class of 2004 won at least one state AAU title, competed nationally (4th place?) and I am pretty sure that they went undefeated in middle school as well. This is just in the past few years. This incoming freshman class may be good, but there have been many GREAT classes come through Mason County. They would be lucky to be top 10 in my mind.

How did Bracken Co. do again? Exactly.

Drew Lykins can shoot but is too slow to play Mason County Defense. Hamm will contribute mostly off the bench because of his lack of size and strength but will play a major role in the success of the Royals.

Top 3 classes? I think it is a solid class but top three is a big stretch so far.

They can't jump any of the first five, but they could compete for minutes with the rest of them. Gilbert will need to grow and Treg Setty and Pawsat will need to get stronger if they want any big time minutes.

Mason returns three starters: Darius Miller Sr Russ Middleton Jr Trevor Setty Sr And have two key reserves returning Ethan King Sr Keith Downing Jr They will also get contributions from Jackson Tolle Sr Jeremy Thompson Jr Ryan Hamm Jr Westin Stahl Jr Should be a GREAT year for the Royals.

I honestly think it might come down to Mackey-Miller head to head game at Mason County next year. That and whoever advances further in the tournament...
