  1. Hole # 3 at Fox Run has always been my kryptonite. I think it's a pretty unfair setup in the summer when it's hard it's very difficult to keep the ball in the fairway..everything filters left of the path and on into the woods. Anyway..first round out with the RBZ I was sitting under the tree on the left that is even with the trap on the right...I had 261 to the green. Hit the 3 hybrid expecting to put it 30-40 yards off. Hit the 3 hybrid to 20 feet looked at my partner and screamed Rocketballz!!!! They are amazing. When I got fitted the ball speed off my R9 driver was 138mph. It jumped to 146mpg with the RBZ driver. Same 100mph swing speed. Jarrod at The Golf Exchange told me every mph you gain in ball speed is 3-4 yards so just with the new technology gained 30 yards of distance before I even got into loft and shafts. I love them!!
  2. God bless Corky Miller!!! 36 years old....keep on doing what you love Corky Corky Miller Statistics and History - Baseball-Reference.com
  3. Driver...3 hybrid ( hit it 220-250) and much more consistent than my old 3 wood... 5 hybrid 200-220... took out my 3 wood and 3 iron..makes golf much more enjoyable...love me some Rocketballz!!!
  4. We go on my family vacation next week and play 3-4 times through the week with anywhere from 4 to 8 of us playing during the day. We usually play one less tee box then we would normally play at home because as my Uncle says we are "Cation" ... anything inside of 4 or 5 feet is usually good because you are on "Cation" as well!!!! For example if we would normally play a course that has 5 sets of tees we would always play the 2nd longest in the 6400-6800 yard range we instead will play tees in the 6000-6200 yard range. Makes "Cation" more fun when you are scoring well and driving Par 4's and reaching Par 5's in 2. Can't wait till Michigan next week.
  5. I started taking music on the golf course about 8-10 years ago. I'd like to think I was the first guy to think of it. Now everyone I play with has something. It is amazing how small and compact the speakers have gotten. Nothing was as loud or sounded as good as this behemoth made by Cambridge Soundworks. It was rather pricey at probably 299.00 and always had battery issues. We were on a Lexington golf trip one year playing at Gibson Bay and after about 12 coors lights I had this thing cranking and some old coot from about 3 fairways over was screaming at me to turn that garbage off. I thought he said can you turn it up which I obliged. Within about 10 minutes a nice lady from the clubhouse came out and said if anyone hears music again we would be done for the day! I have matured since then but still enjoy my iPod,Spotify,Sirius and Pandora on the course. It makes the golf much more enjoyable. I am in the market for something new as my current setup is kind of spotty now. Good times!
  6. Headed up to Paw Paw Michigan for our family vacation next week. I'm in charge of setting up tee times for 3-4 days for 6-8 guys. Anyone familiar with courses in that area or within say 45 minutes of Paw Paw. I laugh every time I type Paw Paw!!!
  7. Some courses you have to play the tips otherwise you are hitting 1/2 wedges in every hole. Example The Pioneer at Kenton County. We always play the golds at Fox Run which is 6750 yards. I used to play the tips every once in awhile when I had a membership there. This time of year with it the fairways being so hard it doesn't make as big of a difference. However if it's been raining and course is wet it makes an enourmous difference as it is about 7200 yards I believe. Took my boy to Boone Links Sunday afternoon and played 9. The day started bad when we unload our clubs and he tells me he doesn't have his putter in his bag. It took all of my patience to let him know that can't happen again. They were nice enough to lend us one. My youngest is 13 and we got paired with 2 guys that were very nice. It's usually just the two of us on Sunday afternoons at Fox Run so playing with strangers was new to him and he got shook up big time. I told him he would get it used to it. I was very pleased to shoot a 40 with 13 putts.
  8. I've had a bunch of eagles but never an ace. I have witnessed several aces by friends. I'd love to see my boy jar one today at Boone Links!!!
  9. Thanks SV...Great idea starting this thread!!
  10. I teed off at 625am on Friday at Fox Run using one of my CincySavers 1/2 off rounds I purchased. I shot 40 on the back and was on about an 81 pace before having to quit after 16 holes due to a scramble starting at 8am. Got 16 holes in 80 minutes! Just booked 139 at Boone links today on golfnow.com for 24.00 a person and taking my little one out there today. He has tryouts tomorrow-Wednesday at Boone and he's never played there.
  11. My boys went and went and played Fox Run with their grandma and aunt today. They all played the ladies tees. My 13 year old who's been taking lessons struggled and shot a 101. My oldest who is 17 shot an 86 and told me he had about 42 putts...lol...he drove the green on 1,5 and 18! The ladies tee on 18 plays as a par 4 and I'm guessing it's about 230 yards. He hit it to 3 feet and missed the eagle putt!!! It was nice to be able to give everyone 4 free rounds I bought on halfpricecincy.com. I just restocked 4 more rounds at Fox Run and also Hickory Sticks is on there for 2 rounds with cart for $35.00... great deals. My youngest is going to try out for Conner's team next week. I'm trying to talk my oldest into playing as well but he just wants to enjoy his senior year and not play sports and work and make money. 12. Nice track...can play tough if they let the rough grow long. They used to have a Hooters tour event there and the course would play difficult when they were preparing it for that. I just booked Hickory Sticks for this Saturday 11am tee time for 4 for 18bucks a man!!! Love that site
  13. Why would you schedule a 30-50 point loss to open your brand new stadium? I would think the beatdown that will transpire will take a lot of the shine off of opening a new stadium.
  14. Him being 3/4 of an inch short of advertised will definately hurt him against these stout NKY defenses he will face this year. Simon Kenton's D would exploit this 3/4 of an inch
  15. Looking forward to this and seeing it at The Rave Reserve 21 and up section. The wife and I seen Ted and last night The Amazing Spiderman and that is the only way I will see a movie from here on out if it's available.
  16. That would be devastating to Scott football. Back to zero and 1 win seasons very quickly if this is true IMO.
  17. Billy Hamilton's speed in context. Billy Hamilton’s speed in context Very interesting read. I can't wait til the day this guy replaces Stubbs in CF and takes over the leadoff role.
  18. Wow. I'm sure if has the ability to play QB at the D1 level he would be playing somewhere. Kid was a great HS QB..leave it at that.
  19. Played in the NKYsports.com outing at AJ Jolly today...the heat was brutal. I had 12 Bud Light Limes in my bag and still had 8 of them left after 18 holes. You know it's hot when shutitdown is forced to drink water and gatorade instead of his BLL's on the golf course. Still enjoyed a couple Acid Deep Dish cigars though.
  20. What makes this offer unreal is that the Rockets just cut him 7 months ago. Their GM who if you read what Bill Simmons writes is a genius admits that they never even really watched him play when they had him for a few weeks. Unbelievalble!!
