Hillard Howard is no stranger to the play-offs. He'd better pull some of something out of his hat if LCC is going to beat Highlands.

Some thoughts from tonights game... It was COLD!!! We had more fans than last week, but nothing near our standards. Ian Welch's 70+ yard opening kick-off return set the pace for the game. J.K. Ratliff can run the football. JC won the final game (and there 3rd ever district championship) in front of the old eagle stadium. JC's O line and D line have made a huge improvements throughout the year. Montgomery County is going to be a good football team. They ran into a better team tonight, but they are on the right track.

It's sunny and clear today in eagleville. Temps are in the 50's. Should be a good night for football!!

8-3 Johnson Central beat Montgomery County @ Montgomery County 28-7 in week 9.

I would like to say that next season at the nest isn't going to be the same, Johnson Central's long time Public Address announcer will be leaving us for the sunshine state of Florida. For 12 years, Dr. Jarret Greer has been the PA man for Johnson Central football. He was honored tonight before the game. Dr. Greer is a 1995 graduate of JC and was inducted into the JCHS Hall of Fame last year. It's gonna be hard to find somebody with his intensity. Nobody on the earth says "TOUCHDOWN GOLDEN EAGLES" like Dr. Greer. Something tells me that he might make some cameo's in the future. :thumb:

Now for the game... Johnson Central looked like a team that wants to win a state title! They ran the football well, they played alot better defense and didnt make the costly mistakes like we did against Belfry. Bryan Station looked to be much improved from the first meeting between these 2 schools. They had IMO the play of the night...When one of their recievers hurdled a JC defender. I couldnt believe he got up that high.

This comment is for the Johnson Central fans.... WHERE WAS EVERYBODY TONIGHT????????? That was the smallest crowd we have had in the Matney era. We need to get behind our team, we have a great shot at making another deep play-off run!

It's gonna be a cold, damp night in eagleville. For all of you making the trip... be safe and may the best team win.

It was deadly accurate on some of Johnson Central's games last season.

I am guessing that some people coming to this game will might need directions. If you are coming from Lexington... - Take I-64 East to the Mountain Parkway (exit 98) - Take the Mountain Parkway all the way to Salyersville. When you get to Salyersville, go straight through and look for Rt. 460. It will be a left hand turn. There will be signs. - Take Rt. 460 until you get into Paintsville. - When you get into Paintsville, you will come to a 4-way intersection. Go straight, you will go by a car dealership, our courthouse and jail. When you get by the jail, be in the right hand lane. You will merge on to Rt. 321 - When you get on Rt. 321, stay straight, the school will be about 2 miles ahead on the left. You should be able to see the field lights.

I havent heard nothing official yet. I do know that the Johnson Central's marquee says we will be playing Bryan Station at Home on friday night.

McCoy has done a great job at Magoffin County. It's too bad they have to meet the state champs in the 1st round. Belfry - 55 Magoffin County - 7
