As the dad of a cheerleader I am biased and I have to chime in and say that Friday nights would not be the same without those ladies revving up the student sections. Same with the dance squad and the band when they play the fight song or other fan pumping music during the game.

This week is when the Birds begin to march this season back to where they want it to be. They have had a chance to heal up and work on a game plan for the rest of the season, so no less than a 21 point win for HHS in this one. Next week they grind out a W against the Blue Colonels and they pound BC and Grant after that. Then they storm into the playoffs with huge confidence and momentum.

On the flip side, which local teams have been a pleasant surprise and have exceeded expectations this season?

"What? Over? Did you say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Heck no! And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...The tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!" Go Birds!!!

An extra week to heal up and prep for Dixie, then after defeating the Red Colonels, momentum and a renewed confidence will carry them to a big win in Park Hills. After that, they start playing with an eye on the playoffs. 4-0 and a relatively easy first round playoff game.

The Freshman game this week will give us a glimpse of which team is ahead in player development.

This makes the upcoming NCC game huge for NDA. Post season should be a lot of fun this year!

At this point, I have to agree with you. If there is an ace in hand, now would be the time to throw it on the table. Perhaps the District games are why it has been held close to the vest. These are the games that matter for post season. I saw lightning in a bottle on that punt formation run last night.

Nothing to do except move on from this one and start preparing for the Red Colonels next week. I hope these Birds are hacked off and fed up with losing. Start fresh against Dixie and finish the season strong!
