  1. The one who is ranked low is Thomas from Ashland. 28 and 7 3's against Pendleton County. He is playing much better than last year. 12th? He will be one of the top 3 by end of the year.
  2. PC was up 13 a the half 42-29. Tomcats scored 43 in the second half tying it up with 8 seconds to go. PC hit a free throw with under a second to go to win 73-72. AS I have been saying they will be fine this year. Biggs left program in great shape,:thumb: and Simms is doing a great job with them. Ashland played hard, but like a team that has only been together for a couple of weeks. Fun game to watch. UP and down the whole time. :thumb:
  3. Wayne is in Owensboro. If the Ashland faithful want to see him it is about 5 hours west on 64.
  4. Ashland won 52-42. Down 26-20 at half. Won 2nd half 32-16. Looked good on defensive end. Offense looked really good in second half. This time of year defense usually is ahead of the offense anyway. :ylsuper: :ylsuper:
  5. What about Highlands? Are they going to be bad? why has no one said anything about them?
  6. KOB is still a great tourney. 5/3 has supplanted all of them though in terms of regular season. AIT will be good even though no one gives it much respect anymore. Highlands, Madison Central, Manual, Boyd, and Ashland all have chances to win their regions, Knott Central with 4 starters back will be very tough as well in the 14th. All of these tourneys will be good.
  7. PC will do fine and has a 24 game home winning streak to try and keep up. Look for them to be dangerous before the year is out. They have a great young coach and a really good player to build around in Belcher.
  8. Ashland has 7 sophomores, 4 juniors and 4 seniors on their roster. In addition to his theier are 11 on the frosh roster. All 26 kids in the program seem to be good kids, students, and there are some good (maybe not great players) players to work with. 22 of them return next year along with 15 incoming 8th graders who will be 9th graders. Will all of them continue the committment? probably not, but there will be plenty to choose from. 4 out of the 5 kids who quit never even came out. Not sure you call that quitting. They just chose not to play anymore. nothing wrong with that. Trouble? one kid has quit who actaully came out for the team. How is that trouble. Let's see what happens before we jump to conclusions.
  9. Bottom line is all those guys quit. If they do not want to play why do you need or want them on the team? They have 15 players on JV/varsity and 11 on the frosh. Only 4 seniors, that gives them 22 to choose from next year. As was stated before all on the above mentioned list it was well known they were not going to play. It is my understanding they were up front with Coach Biggs and just said they did not want to do it. Mom cat before you blame the coaching staff why not look at the players themselves. If they do not want to play that is ok. Sometimes kids just don't want to commit to something that is so time consuming. Again nothing wrong with that or the staff. :thumb:
  10. I guess everybody should pack up and go home then. Looks like Rose Hill will win it the next 5-6 years. I am sure the kid is a good player, but alot of guys would be good or better "If" they grew to be 6'5.
  11. Sweet keep the updates coming Old Soda. Lofton had 30 on same night I believe. Great to see two tenth region foes doing well.
  12. everybody said the same thing about the 3pt. line. Cost of painting the floor etc. The High school game should have what the college game has. Bring it on. 35 second clock would be great. Schools will adapt as will the players. Would force teams to play instead of stall. Would reward good defensive play as well. College teams still play deliberate and use all the clock but just for 35 seconds instead of minutes. :flame:
  13. If Brossart does not win the tenth there should be an FBI investigation. As far as winning it all UHA will do that. They are loaded.
  14. Seiter is in the tenth region Hall of Fame. Reed probably should be. Like Mustang said somebody needs to nominate him and get him on the ballot.
  15. Birdman will you guard Lofton if you get to play them? Tell Your coach you wan that shot!
  16. If that is true about Talbott PC in a walk this year. :ylsuper:
  17. Mustang you should have been a history major. Another good post.
  18. Mason should win it the next two years hands down. Clark and maybe Brossart are the only teams this year who could knock them off. Next year nobody.
  19. Birdman what is your prediction of the Biggs/Simms Clash on the 25th? :dancingpa
  20. Now there would be a good game!:ylsuper: :ylsuper:
  21. Could not have said it better myself. Very good Frances.
  22. Are you guys kidding me? The prior basketball coach never discouraged players from playing football. Most of them decided to play soccer on their own. In fact about half the roster did then and still does. Elliott played as well as Koenninger. If PC football wants to get better maybe they should show the same committment to it that the soccer teams and basketball teams made. To say that all sports there show no team work is a ridiculous statement. If they had no teamwork how did soccer win two regional championships and basketball one while winning 59 games over two years. :argue:
  23. Ouch Whodey! I can hear the big green machine groaning on that one.
  24. Frances and Old Rambler love your posts. Seem to be fair and about the kids. Trimmer 308 maybe you need to get a coaching job?
  25. Press row again your passion is correct and no one disputes the history and tradition of the fieldhouse. Fairness is the issue hear. Mason has a long history better than any other team of doing well in the tournament. Great coaching and players yes. Advantage of homecourt help yes. the years there is a clear cut favorite your right the best team usually wins. Other years it is an advantage. Personally I would like to see it stay at the fieldhouse. I just don't think it will when it comes down to districts deciding it.
