  1. Agree with you. I guess my frustration lies with PC fans and not you BGreen. Sorry if I took it out on you. What do those people want? If he had played more bench players and it cost them some games my guess is that they would have complained about that. They had two of the best seasons ever in school history and instead of enjoying them they criticize the man for not getting them ready for this year. I think they will be fine. Maybe not 28-4 but I agree with you they will be creditable. There is a JV team for a reason. they got experience there. Plus this summer I think they played over 30 games against great competition.
  2. Agreed it will be tough this year. Rose Hill is a year older and Boyd should be tougher and play more as a team. Fairview should be down, but will be very young and be back contending in a year or two. Should be interesting.
  3. BGgreen has Brossart ever ran the score up on Mason or Clark? Who has? I am a Fan you sure don't sound like a fan of PC, all you do is bash the ex-coach who is no longer there. As for PC/Augusta chatter they play this year in December so that should settle that issue.
  4. Ther are great teams in this tourney. To suggest that Ashland put Highlands on their side because they cannot win it is absurd. Ashland is not overlooking anybody or should not be after going 14-16 last year. Highlands has a great program as does Madison Central and Manual. Franklin Co. is Tough too. They had to put somebody on their side.
  5. I never said that he made the statement. Just going on his track record at Pendleton. They did play Oak Hill so I did not think playing HHS would be a problem. If he was willing to play HHS I don't think he would be worried about playing Rose Hill. Not that they aren't good and have two great layers. They just don't have the firepower HHS have right now.
  6. If this is true, I can almost guarantee you that Ashland did not duck out, and that HHS bought their way out. That is their choice and their ight as sad as that may be. Biggs will play anybody anywhere. Feels it gets the team ready for the post-season.
  7. That poster is misinformed then. Elliott played football and they had numerous guys who played soccer on teams that won regional championships and came in late. Elrod being one of them.
  8. I never disputed Mason County did not have great talent or coaching. Read my post. Actually it is not a dead horse. As soon as it is the 40th district's turn to host which I think is 07-08 they will vote to have it at Montgomery County's Gym. Then when the 37th has there turn it would not surprise me to see it move to NKU (If arena is finished) I still see the fieldhouse hosting the region 2 out of every 4 years as it should. Moving it around 50% of the time would seem fair to me if that is what the district (40th and 37th) schools want. Who knows maybe they will vote to keep it at the fieldhouse.
  9. by the way just curious why is it that when a coach wins or runs it is all about the studs? Does not Russell have some studs? But they play slow and won the region playing that way. Everybody who wins games has good players. How much depth do you need to run that is what I was asking before.
  10. Agreed about Greenup. Biggs and Hart get along fine. Why would they not? they share a good amount of players. To not get along would hurt both programs. What mafia? those remarks crack me up. Everybody will keep up in the tomcat program. True Biggs has the reputation of not letting others run his program. Isn't that what all good coaches do?
  11. No one disputes that the fieldhouse is the most central location. No other region in the state has only one site for the regional unless it is totally neutral for all the teams (ex. 16th at Morehead St. every year). This should be about what is fair for all the kids. It is an advantage to host the regional every year. In 02 and 06 Mason squeaked by good Clark and Montgomery teams in the finals. If those games had been played on Neutral soil who knows? Now before everybody kills me on here in 03 and 04 I agree it would not have mattered where the games were played Mason was going to win. The reality is Mason has a great program, but also has been in the finals 15 times in the last 25 years winning 11 times. Does homecourt help those numbers. Yes it does. :ylsuper:
  12. Franklin Co. vs. Rowan Co. Madison Central vs. Manual Boyd Co. vs. Highlands Ashland vs. Knott Central Old Soda you might see the Schlarman vs. Biggs matchup after all. Biggs was 2-6 against Schlarman and had most of his success against Brossart after Code took over going 4-0 against them. Juicy matchup up top with Madison Central against Louisville Manual.
  13. this thread is interesting to say the least. PC is going to be fine and beat both Scott and Campbell. Scott is way better than 9th in region. Agree there. No one accused anyone of not going to the bench when PC was getting drilled by everyone in BIGGS's first two years there. Actually I know of two occasions where he was personally thanked by the opposing coach for not running it up. Taking shots at someone who is no longer there is petty. Belcher is not overrated and will prove people wrong on that one. Augusta is not 8th either. Brossart is a solid third and can beat anyone on a given night in the state for that matter.
  14. Same old song and dance. Coach only wins unless he has great talent, and it is the coach's fault when they lose (not that the talent has gone down). As for Jump man 89 Biggs's record at Pendleton speaks for itself. To say they had no interest in dealing with the younger kids is just off base. Also the cupboard is not bare there. Taht program is in very good shape and will be for a while because of the decisions Biggs and Simms and the other assistant's made. Comparing the football program there to their basketball program is a joke.
  15. How many guys do you need to run? At Pendleton Biggs ran all night and only played 6-7 guys. If your in shape you can play that way. We shall see but why is not foreseeable that 3-4 more guys can step up and fit into the new system. :dancingpa
