Lynn Camp will be a solid team again next season. I think they return several good players. I like the Wagner kid and Mobley as well. Bargo is a big house down on the blocks. Siler is athletic and he can shoot. Coach Pennington is producing a good team each and every year. He is to be commended for returning the series along with Coach Pietrowski. The locals enjoy this game and the kids enjoy competing as well. I liked the idea of the Cup as well to add some luster to the event. Good luck to both teams and may they meet again in the regional at Bell County in a few weeks.

South is a very good team. Well coached and schooled in their style of play. One can only wonder how this game will unfold......will the Colonels try to turn the tempo up and use their depth and athletes to gain the victory or will the Cards pick to grind it out and attempt to beat the Colonels at their style of game. The Colonels can throw 16 fouls at St. John. If the Colonels can somehow get into the South bench it would be to their advantage. That seems to be much easier said than done. I can not see St. John being in any type of foul trouble either. So there is the battle within itself. Tempo will be huge in this game. Should be an entertaining game either way with tons of emotion. If Whitley can score in the 60's an upset could be brewing. If the game is in the 40's look for the Cards to come out on top. The big game experience has to be on the South Laurel side as well.

I think it had more to do with Clay Co. already playing at Corbin earlier in the season and Corbin needing a home game for Senior Night. It would have been kinda hard to recognize the Seniors on the road in Manchester.

I thought it was a pretty good contest. Fans pay their money and some get their monies worth more than others. If the officals are going to take that kind of verbal assalt, then so be it. Lynn Camp has some talented players. I can not see how Pineville and Barbourville beat the Wildcats this season. Corbin handled things pretty well considering all the events of the evening. I hope this rivalry continues. Perhaps it can be an annual event played at the New Civic center in the future.

FCI did seem to be a nice group. Thet seemed to understand the situation and played with good sportsmanship throughout the contest.

I totally agree on all accounts. I was very impressed by the unselfishness of all the Redhounds on this night. Must be a group that really cares about each other. That coupled with their abilities can take them a long way as the post season approaches. Congrats to Travis, you deserved this final sendoff. Hounds now hit the road to Lynn Camp and Harlan to end the regular season, before facing Williamsburg in the Jacket Hive in the first round of the district.

I would suspect FCI to be a fairly good team to be travelling down to Kentucky to take on Corbin and Clay County. I would guess a much closer game and much lower scores based on their previous games, etc.

I think his first name was Derek? Not sure he even came out after football season was over, to be honest. Stan could be some relation, not sure.

I try to watch the Colonels every chance I get. I have a few relatives down that way in the community of Saxton.

The Lovett boy played some varsity last year.

I try to live on the light side of life. Conventional wisdom would say.. not playing for a couple of weeks would hurt the Panthers down the stretch, but it could be a case where the practice has allowed them to refine and perfect some things instead. Les, I heard Hartman beat you in a game of PIG?

Coach Elam may have them doing two-a-days or scrimmaging against Hartman to keep their skills toned.

I think lots will be revealed in the last few games of the regular season. Can the Hounds continue to punish opponents? Will the Colonels continue their hot streak since Christmas? Has South in store a few surprises like Sizemore and Huff that can push them over the top? Will the Jackets get on a win streak to finish things up? Too many questions and too little time. Should be a good show regardless of how it shakes out.

How do you see it playing out Les? Can the Jackets or Colonels pull the upset on the Boys' side of things? Should be a good environment in Mountjoy gym. I heard they were about sold out of reserved seats already.

That would make a huge difference for the Cards. Playing without Smith and St. John would really hurt them on the glass and in the scoring column as well. Life on the road can be interesting. Good win for Clinton nonetheless. Coach Messer is an Ol' Clay County boy from back in the day. From the boxscore the two teams tied the second and third quarter, Clinton won the game in the first and fourth.

I think it will be settled February the 11th at the district meeting in Williamsburg. It is head to head, then road wins, then coin toss. To the best of my knowledge. Corbin won at Corbin, South won at South. Whitley is the number 3 seed and Williamsburg is the number 4 seed.
