WILDMAN Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I didn't hear the stats but nice win on senior night for the Redhounds. FCI takes on Clay County tomorrow. If anyone could add the particulars of tonight's game, be my guest.
Les Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Congrats goes out to Travis Cowden for being named CO-MVP with Josh Crawford.
addout Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Way to go Hounds and congratulations Travis!

Well Hank, to begin with Corbin's inside game was way too much for FCI and when Coach P decided to press FCI, it was all over but the final margin at that point. Corbin's players all made sure to get their buddy Travis Cowden, plenty of shots which he knocked down to go along with his rebounds and a steal in his farewell SR game. It was very enjoyable to watch him hit those 3's tonight. Coach P is to be commended!

Must be a group that really cares about each other. That coupled with their abilities can take them a long way as the post season approaches. Congrats to Travis, you deserved this final sendoff. Hounds now hit the road to Lynn Camp and Harlan to end the regular season, before facing Williamsburg in the Jacket Hive in the first round of the district.
WILDMAN Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 That's great that the Cowden kid got to get into a game and even score some points. I'm sure just getting to dress in a varsity game would have made his night. To get in and score 8 points is a story that can be looked back upon for years. Hats off to Tony Pietrowski for making this kid's senior season special. What were some of the stats and highlights?
Cawoodball player Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Crawford had 22 points and really dominated the paint. Johnson had 18 and Josh Smith had 13. Corbin really had no trouble in this one.

It was inspiring and the crowd was very appreciative of the teams effort in getting him the scores. This is really a great bunch of boys! Congratulations Redhounds!
bigbluefan02 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Seeing what Coach P did was a very class act. For one starter to sit tonight so that Travis could start was a showing of how far this team has come. Both the players and the coaches need to be given a pat on the back. Very class act.

Congratulations Redhounds! A very nice gesture from Coach P and the staff in allowing Travis to fulfill a dream.:thumb: I was also impressed by the FCI Academy players, they showed a lot of class last night, which can be hard to when you are getting beat that badly. I saw several of their kids congratulating Travis during the game and after the post game prayer.:thumb:
Bubba Wilson Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 FCI did seem to be a nice group. Thet seemed to understand the situation and played with good sportsmanship throughout the contest.
